part two of his CBS Early Show interview, Levi Johnston - the 19-year-old father of Sarah Palin's grandson - continued to accuse the Palin family of keeping him from spending time alone with his 3-month-old son, Tripp.
Levi's mother, Sherry Johnston, also claimed the family won't let her see her grandson and wants a pow-wow with the Palins to work out a custody arrangement.
In a perfect world, "everything will be reconciled," Sherry said. "[I hope] we can get together, if for no other reason, [than] for Tripp. He deserves to know both grandmas and grandpas, and aunts and uncles. And mom and dad."
"I had a really rough summer," added Sherry, who faces six felony counts of possessing and selling the prescription painkiller OxyContin.
After her arrest, she said the arrival of her grandson "was what kept me going. Just waiting for him."

Wiping tears from her eyes, she added, "I mean, Bristol and I talked about it a lot. Just like, 'Well, you'll have Tripp soon. And he'll be there for you.'"
"You're still waiting"? Rodriguez asked.
"I'm hoping," Sherry said. "I'm begging."

Levi said that while he talks to Bristol, 18, "every day, every other day," the conversations are "real short."
"You know, I call her to see -- see how my baby's doing," he said. "That kind of thing. But we don't really sit there and talk. Like, 'How are you -- how you been?' I mean, she's real short with me."
Tell Us: Whose side are you on - Levi or Bristol's?
So all the trashy behavior by Johnston’s family is a reflection on the Palin’s because Levi is Tripp’s father. But not that the Palin’s don’t want Tripp around that trashy family that’s also their fault?
not=now
I NEVER said SHE should have any rights to see the kid AT ALL. I believe she does NOT.
I’m strictly looking out for Levis rights.
She is a felon just like Sen. Ted Stevens is. She’s been convicted of nothing. I’m not defending her visitation rights.
Paying child support does not give one unsupervised visitation though. I had full legal and physical custody of my children. My ex-husband was a drunk who constantly threatened the children. He paid child support but the courts decided that he wasn't responsible enough to have unsupervised visitation. . .
Being that Levi's mom is a drug addict with six felony charges pending, I would give Levi limited, supervised visitation.
Thank you for posting this comment at the top of the thread - usually those top "reply" spots are filled with people who cast doubt on Republicans and conservatives.
You are right!
You’re probably right.
The best thing for the Palins to do, is to not pick a fight with him over visitation. We already know the media will come down on them with a sledgehammer. The MSM are just salivating for another excuse to crucify her on the national stage.
Unfortunately the Palin daughter got mixed up with a loser who went on national tv and proved he is also not a gentleman. In today's world, this is your worst nightmare as a parent.
As far as Dr. Laura goes, several years ago the body of her badly decomposed elderly mother was found after she had been dead for 2 months. They had been estranged for years, yet she feels confident to give advice to other people about how to live their lives.
I'm sure the baby will have a loving and happy life with the Palins, regardless of what Dr. Laura says.
I didn’t see the true story of Joe Biden’s daughter doing cocaine being reported either.
Dr. Laura is an a@@
As Levi seems to be living in his mother's home, THAT is the problem.
In an earlier article, Levi said he could see Tripp whenever he wished, but he could not take the child out off with him somewhere. Presumably, he would be wanting to take the child to his home where the addict grandmother is. I, too, would be concerned that he'd leave the baby with her to go off partying.
Sarah palin’s 2012 run is going to last about ten minutes. She won’t make it to March 2012.
Give up that ghost and lets look for someone new. The current crop are simply inept with the media, and that is what its going to take to get elected.
If she cannot control THIS situation, I dread to think about she would handle one with the lives of our troops at stake.
Move on....(OK, bad choice of words....)
Well thank God you're not a frakking judge then, since you are apparently unable to dintinguish between a FATHER with rights and his own mother who has no rights related to custody.
Kind of hard to be on his side, what with the way he's shooting his mouth off and all.
What a public soap opera!
Puh-leeeze!
The article has tricky wording. Levi doesn't say the Palins are denying him visitation with his son. He says they're not allowing him to spend time alone with his son. IOW, he wants unsupervised visitation. Given his mother's drug bust, I can understand them denying him "alone" time.
In any case, if he and Bristol had married before she became pregnant or, at the very least, before the baby was born, he could be with his son everyday right now.
