With Easter four days away, the Great Church Search is on for the Obamas, who are seeking a presidential place of worship in Washington nearly a year after a divisive break from their Chicago church and the incendiary sermons of its controversial pastor.
White House aides and close friends of the family have been quietly checking out D.C. churches on a shortlist - maybe a dozen in all - and attending services, speaking with pastors, reverends and rectors and reporting back to the Obamas, said one White House source familiar with the search.

Maybe it is like when the Kings of old had food tasters - Obama sends one of his evil followers into a church and if they don’t burst into flames on the spot, he figures God isn’t really watching that particular building very closely...
too many rich white people
oh please
has Jeremiah Wright ever baptized anyone? If so I wonder undwer what terminology...
Lot's of them. They don't poll well, though.
Obama is looking for a liberal church, but not too obnoxiously liberal. He wants one is relatively bland, where videos of the sermon won't scare anyone. With the recent bowing fiasco, he doesn't want a church with a foreign heiarchy which might bring up questions of his national loyalty (there goes Catholic). No strong opinions on other religions are allowed, so many Baptist churches are out. Are there any really dull Episopal churches near the White House?
Evidently, Mister Obama might be more comfortable in a mosque.
.
Well, Obama's two daughters, but Obama really wasn't paying attention to the ceremony. I think he was out to get iced tea for part of it.
the baptism of the obama children is hearsay (part of the crafted image), just as I suspect is the baptism of zerO himself
Probably looking for one with dozens of lightning rods on top.
Scientology?
Easter means nothing to the muslim at 1600.
Rev Manning would point out “the One” and call him a long-legged mac daddy.
"In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell my mother that I made faces during Koranic studies," Obama wrote. "My mother wasn't overly concerned. 'Be respectful,' she'd say. In the Catholic school, when it came time to pray, I would close my eyes, then peek around the room. Nothing happened. No angels descended. Just a parched old nun and 30 brown children, muttering words."
I doubt that either of his parents had him baptized as a Christian seeing as neither of them were. I doubt that his Unitarian grandmother had him baptized as a Christian as well.
He's said that it was the former muslim Jeremiah Wright who brought him to Christ. I'd like to know if Jeremiah baptised Barack and also what was it that brought Jeremiah Wright to give up Islam for Christianity.
This 2004 puff piece erroneously labels his mother a Christian:

Meanwhile...
In his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father Barack Obama wrote, My mother's confidence in needlepoint virtues depended on a faith I didn't possess... In a land [Indonesia] where fatalism remained a necessary tool for enduring hardship... she was a lonely witness for secular humanism, a soldier for New Deal, Peace Corps, position-paper liberalism.
In his 2006 book The Audacity of Hope Obama wrote, I was not raised in a religious household... My mother's own experiences... only reinforced this inherited skepticism. Her memories of the Christians who populated her youth were not fond ones... And yet for all her professed secularism, my mother was in many ways the most spiritually awakened person that I've ever known.
Religion for her was just one of the many ways and not necessarily the best way that man attempted to control the unknowable and understand the deeper truths about our lives, Obama wrote.
In 2007 Obama described his mother as a Christian from Kansas. I was raised by my mother, he continued. So, Ive always been a Christian.
Also in 2007, he said in a speech, My mother, whose parents were nonpracticing Baptists and Methodists, was one of the most spiritual souls I ever knew. But she had a healthy skepticism of religion as an institution. And as a consequence, so did I
Muslims celebrate Easter? Thats news to me.
Find a church just in time for Easter.....wait! Muslim’s don’t celebrate the resurrection of Christ
Either they believe Christ is their Savior or they do not!
We do know they haven’t committed their life to Jesus. I guess they are looking for the most extreme - the politically correct churches and I’m sure they will find them. As for me, give me a Bible believing southern pastor who is politically incorrect any day!

Obama makes surprise visit to Iraq: AFP reporter
Earlier, Obama visited a landmark mosque in Istanbul, following strong messages of US reconciliation with the Islamic world on his maiden trip to a mainly Muslim country as president.
Taking off his shoes as tradition requires, Obama stepped into the 17th-century Sultanahmet Mosque in the ancient heart of Istanbul, accompanied by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Two Muslim preachers guided Obama inside the grandiose edifice — better known as the Blue Mosque for its blue tileworks — and the president smiled when they showed him a dome scripture mentioning the Prophet Mohammed’s grandson Hussein, Obama’s middle name, Anatolia news agency reported.
Didn’t know that Islam required a Baptism!
He’s as crooked as a tub of guts, it would seem. He doesn’t tell it straight because he can’t. His story is so twisted up he probably honestly doesn’t know the truth himself.
One thing is certain: he is a muslim.
