LACEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. The nation's oldest nuclear power plant has been granted a new license allowing it to operate for another 20 years.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission dismissed objections from anti-nuclear and environmental groups and issued the license Wednesday to the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station in Lacey Township, N.J., about 50 miles east of Philadelphia and 75 miles south of New York City.

Hooray! To heck with the no-nukers!
Lacey and the surrounding area has gotten a lot more crowded since this plant was commisioned. The newbies to shore threaten not just Oyster Creek but the racing strips and other Jersey Shore fixtures.
I’m glad the Pineys get to continue working at the plant.
Hooray for nukes!! The enviro -meantalists were probably disappointed at not finding a pearl at Oyster creek.
A suggestion that a new plant be built and the old one be retired when it is finished will meet with the same resistance from the naysayers. They are not concerned about the age of the plant vis a vis safety; they are just anti-nuclear power, period.
Let them reside in the darkness and give up their Apple products.
Don't forget that they're big fans of Jane Fonda too.
Good one!
