I believe the reports that Sarah Palin wanted her daughter and this guy to marry as soon as she (SP) found out about the pregnancy. This would have been the sensible thing to do. Supposedly, Bristol balked, but I'd bet it was actually Levi who didn't want to marry. Unfortunately, very few people anymore understand that there is some logic behind shotgun weddings, so there probably wasn't much pressure on Levi's side to do what used to called “the right thing”.
