That's the crew's story and they are sticking to it!! LOL.
No violation at all. They can swim 300-400 miles back to the beach. Good exercise for them.
Keelhauled, shoot take them halfway and stop!
Be careful “Buckwheat” might raise a terrorist flag!
Hey, I’m responding to the story at hand. Since there are some links and the story is there to analyze and get details, that’s what I’m doing...
I’ll get back to you with some more details soon..., when I finish the reading...
ROTFLMAO...
“The crew is back in control of the ship,” a U.S. official said at midday, speaking on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak on the record. “It’s reported that one pirate is on board under crew control the other three were trying to flee,” the official said. The status of the other pirates was unknown, the official said, but they were reported to “be in the water.”
The crew apparently contacted the private shipping that it works for. That company, Maersk, scheduled a noon news conference in Norfolk, Va, defense officials said.

Even the wimpiest Greenhorn on Deadliest Catch is more of a man than most.
DON’T MESS with AMERICAN BOATMEN! Yeeeeaaaah! :-)
Awesome!
And they didn’t wait for a government help!!
Pentagon has not gone into details....More information is coming from the father, whose son is second in command of the M. Alabama.
M. Line now confirms that the crew is safe......That’s all that is important.
That applies to everyone on this thread. Please drop it.
“They were graduates. Oh and Midshipmen please - Maritime Academies have midshipmen. Cadets whoop like the monkeys of oz, dont count past 1, and drag their knuckles on the ground.”
I stand absolutely corrected. Yes, midshipmen from Maritime Academies.
Ooh, Navy...brutal cadet comments. Thank God for all of them!
If YOU were an American crewman, would YOU want to be held by Somali Muslims?
I'm guessing that the crew decided that they would NOT be treated well, and were likely to be tortured to death once they got transported to shore.
Don't be so sure that they didn't say that "3 gallant pirates rescued infant children from the money driven capitalist Americans by transporting them off the ship at their own peril".
They did it right. They captured one for “intelligence purposes”...and as for the rest...get to swimmin’, boys, 400 miles is a long way to land.
I suppose the best of all possible outcomes would be if their “mothership” came back to pick the three swimmers up in time for the US Navy to show up and say hi in their own special way...

Even if could not carry guns, other things possible. Tasers?
I am just happy this happened.
***I really hate having to add the Obama equation into everything. We know it will always be surrender.***
Maybe Obama will apologize and release the Somali pirate in the US! >8-(
