Shively at the Pentagon reporting...”A wonderful ending to the story”
“The ABA has chartered a cruise ship to pick up the pirates and prepare lawsuits against the crew of the Maersk freighter.” /sarc
Has Obama apologized to the pirates yet
If they see it coming, maybe. The pirates are sneaky and will sometimes slip up to the ship at night in a small skiff, come alongside, and climb aboard before anybody knows what’s going on. Next thing the guys on the bridge know, there’s a couple of Somalis with AKs standing next to them.
These pirates get a hold of some fairly high-grade weaponry on the black market. Assault rifles, machine guns of various sizes, RPGs...we’re not talking a pistol and a cutlass here. They have firepower that can kill a lot of people quickly. Yeah, they’re not sailing around in a 32-gun ship like 300 years ago, but they don’t need to.

Thanks for posting the good news.
Pentagon has confirmed that the crew is back in control -via FNC.
FOX just got off the phone with the Pentagon who confirmed the story- the good guys are in control of the ship.
DILLIGAS about tradition? We’re talking about pirates here, not even worth wasting a bullet to kill.
It depends.... “breaking” stories are *always* deficient and full of inaccuracies. I’ve seen this time and time again. When things settle down and we have a good account, then I’ll know what to believe... :-)
better get him a miners light
Makes sense. On Fox they just reported that the Pentagon said that the crew may be back in command of the ship. Sure hope they beat the crap out of the one they captured.
As usual...leave it to the resourceful Americans to handle a situation that others were unable to handle. Betcha the code word was “Let’s Roll!”
Gee I hope they can swim........
With 50 lbs of chain locked around their ankles......
LMAO!!!!!!
(CBS/AP) The crew of a hijacked U.S. cargo ship is in a standoff with Somali pirates after attempting to retake the vessel, military sources told CBS News correspondent David Martin.
The sources told CBS News that crew members overpowered the pirates, taking one into custody, but the hijackers still held the ship's master hostage. The American crew is in control of at least part of the ship and crew members have been in contact with their families.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy grads aboard ship
