URGENT: Iowans Need Your Help

Dear Friends of Marriage,

You have been so faithful in your work to encourage the West Virginia legislature to let the people vote on a marriage protection amendment.  While we wait for our legislature to respond to your many thousand requests, our countrymen in Iowa need your help -- RIGHT NOW!!

As you are aware, the Iowa Supreme Court overturned the Iowa Defense of Marriage Act last week.  What you may not know is that Iowa has been a target of homosexual activist and billionaire Tim Gill for the last decade.  His money has bought several seats in the Iowa Assembly, turning them in favor of the radical homosexual agenda.  As a result, these beholding legislators are stubbornly refusing to even vote.

The following is an urgent request we received late on Tuesday from our friends leading the efforts to secure the right of Iowans to overturn this radical judicial decision.  Please read it carefully and consider responding immediately.

Thank you for your interest in protecting marriage!

The Iowa House DOES have time to pass the Iowa Marriage Amendment, also known as HJR 6.

HJR 6 is the first step toward giving Iowans the chance to vote to protect marriage, in response to the Supreme Court’s same-sex marriage ruling.

In order to debate HJR 6, the House must force it out of committee with a procedural vote.  Some in the House are prepared to initiate this procedural vote, but to pass it we need your help!

We only have 43 votes, and we need 51 to pass the procedural vote so HJR 6 can be voted on.  Please contact the Representatives listed below, and tell them to vote to bring HJR 6 out of committee.

THERE ARE NO LEGITIMATE EXCUSES FOR VOTING AGAINST THIS CRITICAL PROCEDURAL VOTE!  In this case, a “no” vote on procedure is a “no” vote on traditional marriage.

The following representatives have indicated they support traditional marriage.  Therefore, they SHOULD vote to bring the IMA out of committee.  Call AND email them repeatedly until they commit!

Representative Brian Quirk – brian.quirk@legis.state.ia.us, 515.242.6436 (desk), Home Address: 1011 Sunset St., New Hampton, IA, 50659

I just wrote this letter Please help if you can.

Dear Representative,

I am writing to encourage you to support the passage of HR 6. Iowa nor does America support the judicial activism that has taken place. Even in California the people were clear and Iowa is not California. The state has never sanctioned in its history the definition of marriage other than what has been defined by nature and tradition. No amount of abstract reasoning of activist judges can change this. You have a choice. Please support the rights of the majority of your citizens to maintain marriage as it has always been and always should be. Please don't choose to make this into a political issue which will dog you and cost you dearly in the eyes of Iowans. You can vote for passage of this bill and allow what is going to happen eventually anyway to happen now rather than sometime during the next several election cycles. You certainly do not win anything by dragging this out. You have a choice. Not one homosexual is being denied anything by maintaining marriage as it is has always been even less so than a driver who does not meet the requirements for a drivers license is being discriminated against when denied one. People do not need a license or public sanction to cohabit or maintain legal arrangements. Also the law should not lift up that which is false by definition. You have a choice, stake your political career on this issue which serves no great purpose or support the will of the people over will of the appointed and those who view their sexual peculiarities as political.

It is Your Choice Thank You-

If this doesn’t work then well placed ethics complaints can do just as well.

Thanks and those who think it is just about Marriage can be assured that it won’t stop there. We have plenty of examples. They’ll target your children for indoctrination, they’ll label you a hate monger if you disagree or wish to opt out, they’ll take your children if you oppose them and through imprisonment and intimidation your right to disagree. It is absolutely the key indication of how ignorant and infantile many in this nation have become that this is even an issue. Once people had a sense of person dignity now they whine and pride themselves in their personal and moral weakness. It is time for a change. It is time to re-boot America.

I have a baseball bat Iowans can borrow to beat hell out of and sense in to the Iowa supremes.
You know they need an ass whoopin and deserve one too.
Then place them all in stocks in a public square so the people can go by and kick them and throw rotten garbage at them.

If Iowans have turned their government over to “judges” like this.....it may be time to cut it loose and set it
adrift.

As much as I abhor this travesty in Iowa, I think it's inappropriate for those other than Iowans or those with interests in the state to contact state legislators. They don't represent outsiders. It just seem like the act of an interloper to meddle with what Iowans should have taken care of a LONG time ago.

Aren't there enough good Iowans to inundate their representatives into listening?
