STOCKTON - A retired truck driver and Vietnam War veteran said Monday that he is forming an armed militia - mostly men with rifles and armbands, four to a car - to patrol Stockton this summer, when at least 43 police officers are to be laid off.

I’d like to see a lot more of this. But I suspect that it’s illegal — at least in states like MA where I live.

Good for them. They are taking this straight from the Constitution.

I live in MA too; not sure if it's actually illegal. We do have concealed carry (I have an unrestricted license to carry myself), and so far as I know, open carry is also not illegal.
Of course, being a "may issue" state, we constantly have to worry about our police chiefs yanking our LTCs if we do something to make them think we're "unsuitable".
If enough of us have the guts to put this to the test, what are they really going to do?

As long as welfare, food, free education, healthcare, public housing, bilingual education, colelge admission, Affirmative Action and everything in everyday life being written and spoken in Spanish...the Dems do not care about where the votes come from or the social or cost of crime...power is the goal, period.

Why not? We are told we have to let the illegal alien invaders trample our property. And if you do something, you get sued by the illegals and the ACLU and likely the Justice Dept. The tree of liberty is in sore need of water.

Wonder if any former police officers will be along for the ride. Or do they just work for the pay?

Agreed, but the hand wringing has already started with the mayor whining about “untrained” citizens on patrol.
Most of them are ex-military. How did they get to skip basic?
These are the kind of people who will get Waco’d in the future, because this is definitely not what our government, especially Zero, has in mind when mentionng the civilian defense force.

I applaud the effort. It’s a good idea — get rid of the Blue Army and let armed neighborhood watch groups do the policing.
That being said: I sure hope this guy has a good lawyer and nice, deep pockets. He’s going to need both.

Your are 100% correct. It is all about power (and money) for the Democrats. The Republians are marginally better or less evil.

Indeed, while the Tree of Liberty withers away, it's natural manure has been piling up for years.
A very healthy application is long overdue.

I’m not too keen about this. Armed yahoos in cars do not have any legitimacy in law — particularly if they do not have the Mayor’s blessing.
If implemented, this can only end in tears.
