there will be an ocean of blood to accompany the tears. If there's any good news in this, it is that it will mostly be liberal blood, since they're concentrated in the areas most likely to be attacked by an enemy emboldened by their Pres__ent. Karma's a b!tch.

As much as I believe Bush was a lousy president, you’re absolutely right about Iraq/Afghanistan. Much of his lousy decisions, domestic and foreign, could probably be attributed to the pressure he was under from dealing with an openly treasonous congress.

He went on to say the two were totally hoodwinked and now Japan is in a very dangerous situation. Money, bitches!
Show us the dough.
These operations cost a lot, and now we speak in terms of Trillions.
Including the US cost of the Marshall plan, and the effects of your economic warfare (dumping) you're very likely starting out with a huge negative number.
Put up or shut up.

I would be MORE than happy to start a specific, separate thread on Japanese sake, photos, etc..
But this one happens to be on North Korean missiles and US diplomacy. Could you kindly please help us return it to that topic? Hey, thanks.

You do realize the annualized amount of money Japan officially already subsidizes the US military to be in Japan under MDA and SOFA agreement(s), omoiyari yosan, land, Japanese support, base security, housing, etc. etc., don't you? You have studied this issue I take it. What is your understanding of their current burden?

Japan can put a satellite in orbit around the moon. I’m sure they could put a warhead in Beijing if need be. China knows this; they also know that their mega-cities would be sitting ducks in a nuclear exchange.
It’s a MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD world.

"To be balanced and fair here, in private I am sure Japanese officialdom, in the majority, are fuming about the new Rice, Dr. Susan Rice, and of course, over Teleprompter-in-Chief as well. They might be a bit muted since these are actually in power in D.C., but time will tell. " For the always diplomatic Japanese, a bold way to warn Obama that he'd better take the NORKs more sereiously, orthey might go nuclear (which for them is simply a matter of deciding to do it + 12 months of work).

The misdirected statements of Japan will turn around as soon as they find out our Obamanation in the WH has cut the teeth out, by taking money from the defence system that not only monitors, but can blow up most anything the N.Koreans put up. Rice and Chris Hill did what they could and tried for eight years to bring on China and others to stop this mad country with starving people from what they are doing now. It was stated by Fox yesterday that the little pig pot is no longer the leader is in control..their military is doing the job.

The Japanese landed a spacecraft on a comet, a much much more difficult task than hitting a city next door to your country. China should be careful for what they wish for. The exit of the US from the Western Pacific may not bring about the hegemony they dream of.

The Japanese cannot count on the United States using it’s military or nuclear weapons to defend Japan from China nor North Korea and should develop their own nuclear weapons and missiles. They need to be able to stand against China and North Korea on their own.
To: Lonesome in Massachussets
And let’s not forget that nuclear India successfully landed a lunar probe last November. It looks like they’re not twiddling their thumbs, either.
To: ScaniaBoy
we will probably see many more countries join the nuclear arms race

The exit of the US from the Western Pacific may not bring about the hegemony they dream of. It might bring about the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, though.
