No, I just want what little funds the DOD will be getting to go to programs that show results. I know the AF loves it’s toys and thinks nothing of belitting her sister services - if you are AF you know what I’m talking about.

The F-22 is great, but it’s not worth the sticker price and it won’t help us in the War on Terror.

The War on what? Are you speaking of overseas contingency operations? ;-)

If the WoT was our only concern, you might have a point.

Are we on the same planet?
China and Russia are both helping our opponents in the War on Islamic Terror. Keeping air supperiority over the Su 35/37 is damn well necessary for the WOIT. We can afford 21 Billion for 150 more of these.

Supposing the Islamofascists get complete control of Pakistan and its nukes. You don’t think we just might need some sophisticated weapons to take out the Pak. military? You think we might not need them to take out the Iranian nukes? Or the N. Korean offensive capability? We are very stupid if we think our only enemies are a bunch of towelheads in Afghanistan. Our real enemies, China and Russia, use surrogates like Iran and DPRK to tie us down and waste our resources while they continue to build up their forces.

You may not be able to comprehend this (obviously not), but you would be embarrassing yourself, if you had even a clue or two regarding the issue you are addressing.

This aircraft is a must-have. End of discussion...

I don't think you really have any idea what the F-22 is capable of in the WOT. I say this because only top secret clearence level people have an inkling what new things can be added to an existing machine.

All I’ll say is, the biggest mistake people make is continuing to fight the last war. Either you stay in front technologically or you don’t. The next war won’t be what was planned for. They never are. The better the available tools the better chance there is in adapting them to the new conditions.

What War on Terror would that be? Last I heard from this idiotic administration, we’re no longer in one.
