Sorry for your misunderstanding but WWII greatly weakened the U.S. as a country.
We fought a bloody hard war, lost 243,000 men who should have married and started a family and lived righteous lives, WE GAINED NOTHING, our sacrifices today are not remembered by our allies.
What was it all for?
Then many leftist refugees from Europe came to the U.S. and agitated for social change - we’re seeing that now.
Do I need to go on?
World War II was a disaster for the U.S. and also England. France turned out pathetically OK and Russia scored big. Japan recovered but Italy largely didn’t.
Our American troops stopped Hitler from succeeding in his attempt to kill all the Jews and that’s not even honored today.
So, when I think back, it’s a sore subject, people.
I’m sorry for your misunderstanding as well... It seems that you’ve been listening to too much “anti-American” propaganda, frankly.
Japan invaded many countries before bombing Pearl Harbor. We did not ask them to start their bloody build up.
Hitler was bombing England long before we entered the war. How could England have avoided the "disaster" you claim came on them because of being involved in the war?
Nevelle Chamberland did negotiate a "peace in our time" with Hitler. Why then did Hitler start bombing?
If Hitler hadn't invaded the USSR, they could have easily defeated England. They had a lot more massive army and resources on the eastern front. How could the USSR have avoided the "disaster" you said was WWII?
Revisionist history may have better hindsight, but it doesn't explain what actually happened, and what would have happened if touchy feelly had been used instead of a resolve to win.
