I found the article very interesting because I’ve often thought the same thing when looking at a photo of Osama bin Laden. He seems to have gentle eyes and not the cold blooded eyes of a killer.
Look at those old photos of Gen Serham and Lincoln - those guys had death and murder in their eyes! No offense intended of course.
The moral to my post is that what you see in a photo can deceive you. Lincoln and Sherman would have had to stay still for almost a complete minute and that can cause the eyes to seem to harden. Of course, Gen Sherman was a bloodthirsty killer, history proves this, but still we know photos can deceive.
