I think the more important point is that the Constitution has apparently been repealed.

Remember during the campaign, when Obama said that it would no longer be acceptable for Americans to set their thermostats without first getting permission from other countries?

We’re there.

I didn’t see the video, but Obama cannot just do this, can he? Doesn’t Congress have to approve?

Repealed? I don’t think it’s ever had any binding legal authority in this country.

“The Declaration of Independence has been Effectively Repealed”

Maybe it was meant to say, The Declaration of Independence should it be repeated?” When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, .....

The problem is that all American beliefs in the Constitution are in question. Hey, if they go slowly enough, they can usurp these “beliefs” by the actions that they take (slowly but surely). Unless we the people decide that enough is enough, the Constitution will perish without a fight.

Thank goodness there are several people in broadcasting that still care...

"Doesn’t Congress have to approve?"

I don't know, but I can't imagine that Congress wouldn't give him anything he wants. They are pretty much of the same mind. Pelosi and Reid may wrestle with Obama every now and then to make themselves look important, or to make sure that they get something in their own pockets, but they'll mostly rubber stamp his one-world Socialist philosophy.

Congress can pass any law it wants. It’s up to someone to go to court and question the law on Constitutional grounds, and that can not be done until the law is in effect. Now, I’m no lawyer, but that’s my take. I’d appreciate a lawyer chiming in...

I’m not a lawyer but..

One word: Nixon’s wage/price controls. As I recall, this wasn’t voluntary. That said, I think much of what Obamachev and congress has or will do can be challenged in the SOTUS.

Unfortunately, companies who took federal money sold their souls.

Knowing what the Cloward-Piven Strategy is clarifies a lot doesn’t it?
