Michelle Obama comes out on top
With all the fuss over what Michelle Obama wore in Europe over the past several days, it was this weekend's fashion faceoff with French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy in France that everyone awaited.
The winner? Obama, by a thread.
Here, a review of the first ladies' week in fashion.

Czeching Out Lady M’s Wardrobe
Michelle is back in the White House this morning. There is no truth to the rumor that she left the junket early because of her dissatisfaction over the gifts she received from the the Czech Republic’s first lady, Livia Klausova.
Lady M and the Klausova ended up spending a lot of time together, they toured St. Vitus’s cathedral and St. George’s Basilica together, along with Toes, who seemed to know all kinds of things about the art work, etc. Michelle has been getting a lot of attention about the clothes she’s been wearing. On average, she’s been changing outfits about four times a day, and changing shoes about six times a day. That’s not including the shoes she’s been buying while on this trip. The rate of clothes-changing is about standard for her, or at least has been the last couple of years.
On Sunday for part of the tour, she was wearing a black Michael Kors skirt, and a white Mochino top (she changed in museum bathroom so the TV cameras wouldn’t show her wearing the same outfit in an eight hour period). I have no idea who Kors or Mochinco are, but that’s what Toes told a Czech TV reporter after he asked Michelle what she was wearing. Funny, Toes always seems to know about the fashions Michelle has, but he never seems to pay attention to what Big Guy is wearing. It makes me wonder why he just didn’t become M’s chief of staff if he cares that much.
As for the gifts, another lousy haul. We got a book about some Czech castle none of us cares about. And some Czech glass, which is world-renowned. So of course, the Klausovas were thrilled with the gift we gave them: a vase, made of glass from ... the Czech Republic, which we bought in Washington, DC.

Maybe it’s a bomb belt....not just in the fashion sense of the word.
Oh, but you know, Sarah Palin was just, sooooo uncouth, so middle class. She didn’t go to an Ivy League school, speaks with an accent, shops at Wal-Mart, all that. Just so common, you know.
Why, Sarah Palin would have had no idea how to act around foreign dignitaries. She’d have had no notion about proper gifts to give, how to behave. Why, she might have curtsied to the Queen of England, or something awful like that.
Yes, being very sarcastic here. The Obamas were supposed to be very elegant, educated, and sophisticated. They sure show it abroad, don’t they???
Is it just me, or does the Canadian lady have a “What the h*** are you doing?” look on her face?
She knows the meaning of "serious clothes."
They SCREAM "casual" and are Not what a First Lady of the USA should be wearing on these occasions.
...waiting for a UPS truck to drive through her legs?
Even her fashion sense is given the Affirmative Action excuse.
Low expectations for Michelle, because.....?
Now that dress is an improvement, in fact even elegant, but someone needs to pay for Charm School lessons in how to sit for public photos.
Oh my, that is soooo funny!
She was sending a subtle ecological message from March of the Penguins.
sNort~
Coffeee is coming out my nose !!!
Someone on her staff needs to tell her the truth.
The vermillion dress with pearls and black JACKET (not sweater) and the black shift dress are also very elegant.
These clothes do remind me of Jacqueline Kennedy.
She can pull it off; she is being badly advised.
One thing about that "Carmen Miranda" headware.
When the public finally starts throwing rotten fruit at 0bama, Michelle will have a ready supply of her own to throw back.
Ben Wa turkeys?
