Sarkozy said it was up to the EU member states to decide on Turkish entry and reiterated his opposition. "I have always been opposed to this entry,"...My position hasn't changed and it won't change," he said.

Yesterday we were told that the great negotiator obama managed to get Turkey to withdraw their strong opposition to having the Prime Minister of Denmark take over as head of NATO...

Today we see what obama promised the Turks in return - and despite all the medial hype - once again obama was told by France, Germany, etc to basically buzz off

“Obama backs Turkey for EU but France says no”

Ummm..., France says *no* — because they know where a lot of those Muslims from Turkey will end up... LOL...

Obama says, “yes” because he doesn’t care that Turkey’s Muslims will flood Europe...

The ManShariaian candidatde for the Saudis. Elected with $700 million in middle eastern and african money so American taxpayers can be stuck with trillions in debt to these coming overlords along with the Chinese masters.

A few years ago there was talk of cyprus begin admitted to the EU. What ever happened to that? There was some dispute over whether cyprus was part of turkey or not, as I remember.

Obama - the closet Muslim - will ALWAYS stand with the Muslims.

France has finally found their balls - due to the Muslims squeezing them.

Turkey will never be admitted to the EU. And France is not the only one standing in its way.

Why should the President of the United States care what nations are members of the European Union—other than to know those are (some of) the nations against which the United States must compete. I included the “some of” because those nations, particularly those in Western Europe, will likely not be in the first tier of nations against whom we will be competing in twenty years.

Who did not see this coming?

The question is:
“Shall we accept an islamic nation into the EU?”

and don't split hairs about legalities - it is an islamic nation with some curbs on islam’s more egregious behaviours. For now

The President of American is a Kenyan named Hussein.

What did anyone think that the position of anyone named Hussein would be?

If Turkey is allowed into the EU we will have a civil war in Germany 10 years later. I hope any politician who supported their membership will then end up swinging from a traffic light.

Turkey is the only predominantly Muslim country in NATO, an alliance stalwart and America’s best friend in the Islamic world.

Well, that has certainly been true for a long time. The Turks were staunch allies all through the Cold War. They guarded Europe's flank and they guarded the Middle East from direct Russian influence--although the KGB certainly managed to stir up a lot of "nationalist" trouble covertly.

But something went wrong in the run-up to the Iraqi invasion. Turkey didn't just refuse to let us go through their territory; they strung us along until the last possible moment, when one of our strongest divisions was stationed off their coast, and THEN refused to let us in.

The invasion still succeeded, but no thanks to the Turks. And it gave Saddam's northern armies a chance to escape and make a lot of trouble as irregulars afterward.

Yes, Turkey under Attaturk seemed to be breaking free of Islamic fundamentalism. But I'm by no means sure that they are not sliding back again.

In any case, it's not our job to tell the EU what to do. Even though I suspect that Chirac was the guy who persuaded the Generals to do what they did, with a promise that he would admit them to the EU if they helped stand up for Saddam and Total-Fina-Elf. Much good that promise did the Turks.

*** FRENCH POLITICS AND CULTURE PING LIST *** FREEPMAIL ME IF YOU WANT TO JOIN ***

Never thought I would see the when Sarko and Netanyahu would be the leaders of the Free World.

The picture that is beginning to clearly emerge is that of a person raised in Muslim counries and immersed in Muslim and African culture. He has no feel or understanding or real relationship with Western culture.

He speaks no European languages, despite his expensive education, and doesn’t understand the role of Western Europe in forming the Judeo-Christian heritage that is the underpinning of America and her values.

He seems ignorant of Western civilation, history, and culture in general, not to mention his ignorance about the Founding Fathers, the Founding Documents, and American culture. His point of reference in never American, or Western European values and culture, bot that of the world of Islam.

We are in big trouble.
