"Our scientists and engineers have succeeded in sending satellite 'Kwangmyongsong-2' into orbit by way of carrier rocket 'Unha-2'," state news agency KCNA reported.
It added that it was transmitting data and the "Song of General Kim Il-sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong-il" - references to the late founder of North Korea and his son, the current leader.

“Kwangmyongsong-2”
A cool name for a band.
That’s quite a photo. He looks ready for North Korean Idol.
Oh. I forgot. He already is one.
If we could just bounce some of Obama’s speeches off that toy of his
Kwangmyongsong-2The only problem with that name is that it tends to leave the audience wondering what ever happened to Kwangmyongsong-1.

Don’t give Obama any ideas. He’s going to want his own satellite broadcasting his own set of revolutionary melodies.
Just another little KO-COMMIE move along.............../s
Don’t worry, nothing to fear, Obama’s got smart diplomacy and he’s not afraid to use it.
It’s noise pollution, and radio spectrum waste to be sure, but I’d be surprised if it lasts much more than a month.
Wonder if Washington will verify that it went orbital. Are you cleared for rumors? I heard General Obering, head of the Missile Defense Agency, was keen on shooting this sucker down, just for target practice, to let ‘em know who the sherrif is, but he got over ruled by the smartest diplomat in the room.
If the orbit has inclination (tilt with respect to the equator) much greater than about 40 degrees (launch site latitude) it was definitely a missile test in my mind, since that would bring its first orbit over Alaska and thence the west coast of the U.S. Sort of a message to Obama, “Think that Asian in Binghamton was crazy? We got the real Asian crazy right here.”
In warfare, as in diplomacy, crazy beats smart, every time.
Obubbo DID get his 3am wake up call but was still asleep at the switch

Didn't the Big Giant Zero say he wanted to end experiments in "unproven technology"?

I’ve heard him use the phrased “untested”, which is clearly a mischaracterization. Of course, one way to keep it untested is not to test it.
And, as we all know, Obama might be President of the United States, but his true loyalties lie elsewhere.
I wont' be having a miss sile called Kwangmyong-song-2 in an exclusive neighborhood like this. And the impertance, calling yourself Kwangmyong-song-2 when you haven't properly explained Kwangmyong-song-1! Sheridan would understand.
Just in time for Obama to call for the elimination of the Star Wars missile defense program.
Just in time for Obama to call for the elimination of the Star Wars missile defense program. The deadliest music isn't coming from this Asian freak's ballistic missile test, but from the siren song sung by the foreigner occupying the White House.
Oh he was away and wasted no time telling the world that America was the only nation to use a nuclear weapon. It got big cheers in Prague.
Had a good laugh at your post.
Keeping Up Appearances was a favorite show of mine. And you got Hyacinth dead on.
