CHICAGO, April 4 (UPI) -- U.S. presidential adviser David Axelrod received $2 million late last year when he sold his consulting firm, documents indicate.

Axelrod pioneered many of the Internet organizing techniques that played a crucial role in propelling President Barack Obama to the White House. His firm, AKP&D Message & Media, which specialized in corporate public relations, was sold to two of his partners -- John Kupper and John Del Cecato -- and Los Angeles Obama campaign strategist Larry Grisolano, the Washington publication Politico reported Saturday.

The disclosure form filed by Axelrod showed he earned $152,000 from his work at AKP&D's sister company, ASK Public Strategies, before he sold his interest in that entity to Kupper and Eric Sedler for $1 million, Politico said.

ASK attracted controversy last year when The Washington Post reported Michelle Obama in 2006 urged the University of Chicago's hospital, for whom she worked, to hire the company to help build backing for an urban health program. The Obama campaign denied the report, saying someone other than Michele Obama had suggested hiring ASK, the publication said.

Axelrod: Inventor of “astro turf” or “fake grass roots” campaigns.

I wonder if he’ll pay the taxes on that gain.

Barry has now established acceptable pay scales:
* successful propagandists can earn $2,000,000
* bankers are capped at $500,000
* bad actors at GM at $0 (fired)
* Democrats at Fannie Mae: Priceless

Jamie Gorelick (yes, THAT Jamie Gorelick of 9-11 Brick Wall fame) earned an estimated $26,000,000 serving as vice chair of Fannie Mae from 1998 to 2003.

The Clinton administration's White House Budget Director Franklin Raines ran Fannie and collected $50,000,000.

Big Democrat Jim Johnson, recently on Obama's VP search committee, has hauled in millions from his Fannie Mae CEO job. Johnson earned $21,000,000 in just his last year at Fannie Mae.
