When Mother Jones and Jules Crittenden agree, isnt that a sign of the apocalypse? Both take a hard look at the Cybersecurity Act of 2009, S.773 sponsored by Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Bill Nelson (D-FL), and Olympia Snowe (R-ME). Don’t worry, he’ll only shut down conservative sites. Kos and Huff are safe.

The Inslaw corporation invented a marketing program to help businesses track customer preferences. It was called Promis. The FBI bought a copy and modified it slightly. The CIA modified it a little and called it Echelon. Now it is called Carnivore and it spends all day every day searching for word patterns so they can follow people who think like you and me. (Hi guys.)
There are whole books on this and I summed it up in three lines......

It’s only a matter of time. Freedom of thought and free exchange of ideas are not compatible with Communism.

The Executive Branch is taking total power. There was another person who did this after becoming leader. I think his name was Hitler?

What can we and Jim do as far as proxy servers? Ghost proxy machines, etc.
Use the technology to get around them.

You know you're in trouble when Mother Jones starts to get skittish about too much goobermint. Sort of like the Germans telling Obama he's too socialistic. What more do we need, to get the musket down off the mantle piece.

I guess Rush is right. We will be curled up with a flashlight reading Mark Levin's book on college campii.

President Obama's pick to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and author of "Repulblic.com," Cass Sunstein, according to wiki believes in the government's role of "maintaining freedom of choice while also steering people's decisions in directions that will make their lives go better. Fancy name, "choice architect." Mr. Sunstein also co-authored the book, Nudge. Get ready to be nudged!
The government will build the choices you have. But, hey! you get to choose from among them. It's called libertarian paternalism. This ain't satire.
Here's how President Obama's pick to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and author of "Repulblic.com," Cass Sunstein, describes FreeRepublic.com as "group polarization," where people segregate themselves so effectively online with other like-minded thinkers that they create an echo chamber where the group's worst and most malevolent opinions get reinforced and strengthened. "We might want to consider," Sunstein startlingly told the Times recently, "the possibility of ways of requiring or encouraging sites to link to opposing viewpoints."
We're a danger to democracy, fellow Freepers.

OMG! You buried the most frightening part of that! Let me re-state it:
"We might want to consider," Sunstein startlingly told the Times recently, "the possibility of ways of requiring or encouraging sites to link to opposing viewpoints."

We do link to opposing viewpoints all the time. Some of them we have to excerpt, but linking shouldn’t be a problem. We link their view and then shred it.
