If women aren't inferior, why does Title IX exist?
Whoops. I haven't donned my Nomex underwear yet. Please give me a couple of minutes before responding.
Yep. This is the same city that tried to screw the family of a officer killed when his cruiser hit a paddywagon durning a chase because the officer didnt have his seatbelt on.
It s a little known fact.
probably not.
They would be more interested in taking down lots of civilians in public places, malls or churches rather than dealing right with the police.
If it starts happening on a regular basis, it will create the “terror” they always desire... I haven’t read a lot about this particular case yet, just wanted to mention that.

There are numerous references to a gun banning:
"Friends said 23 year-old Richard Poplawski feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns."
"Poplawski's friends at the scene described him as a young man who thought the Obama administration would ban guns."
"One friend, Edward Perkovic, said Poplawski feared "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" and "didn't like our rights being infringed upon."
"Another longtime friend, Aaron Vire, said he feared that President Obama was going to take away his rights, though he said he "wasn't violently against Obama."
Vire said his friend had an AK-47 rifle and several powerful handguns, including a .357 Magnum."

OMG. Are you actually serious? I’m sorry, I can’t advance you from the stone age. I won’t try.
Smoke from the structure? And then tear-gas authorized with an innocent supposedly in the basement of the structure? Doesn’t sound like a good combo there...
No-one flame me on this, please... I fully admit I have no experience or training in these types of situations, so I’m not attacking the officers here at all... I don’t hate all police officers or anything like that, and I am saying prayers for all the officers and their family members, as well as everyone else effected by this...
I just hate remembering what happened with all the women and children at Waco being burned... Hearing the smoke/gas authorization immediately brought that to mind.
I also am keeping in the back of my mind at this point that if things keep moving the way they have in just the last 24-72 hours we can expect these things to happen more regularly. Whether it’s cases of terrorist actions (which we’ve already seen covered up by the media — like OKC), or true nutcases, or disgruntled patriots acting out of self-defense, it will most likely all be treated the same... It’s a good idea to remember that the media is at times totally complicit with political agendas (like gun control).
Are we sure it was an AK-47? I just remember yesterday’s shooting where they were claiming the weapon was a “high-powered rifle” and it ended up being a .9mm & a .45.

Maybe, just maybe, women and men aren't equal at all. Maybe we have different body parts, different strengths and weaknesses (both physical and mental).
Maybe the obviousness of my previous statement led to the structuring of society in such a way that a man's responsibility was to defend and protect the female (also called "chivalry").
Welcome to FR.
That's part of what i fear about this.
How sad... I can’t imagine what their fellow officers went through not being able to help their friends. Prayers for all.
WOW — The Taliban taking responsibility??? Did NOT expect THAT. Very interesting to say the least...
Cue the “right wing militia” propaganda... I’m sure they’ve still got their talking points back from during Clinton’s Administration...
As soon as I saw this was an “ex-”Marine I KNEW they would take this angle — whether it’s true or not...
The fact that he was able to hold so many officers at bay for so long to where THEY were running out of ammo will no doubt be used to push for that ammo registration, etc... etc...
The thing that sucks... I’d hazard a guess that at least some of the police officers who were killed, and who he was firing upon probably felt the same as he about the course of our country. I really wouldn’t want to be a law enforcement officer right now.
I wonder if this “informant” is REALLY a “friend” of the person, or if he is a plant? It wouldn’t surprise me, really, it wouldn’t surprise me at ALL for the government to use every such situation they possibly can to paint the picture they want to paint...
Slight correction: Ayers said he felt HE didn’t do enough bombing and killing. The article in which he stated that appeared in the NY Times on 9/11.
(Agree with you though, just wanted to mention it as the liberals will jump on any little mistake to neutralize our efforts...)
Kind of says something about the training of Marines, doesn’t it? Regardless, of whether this guy was nuts or not, no-one can say he didn’t know what he was doing...
Then I won't waste my time waiting for you to tell me why the physical requirements for male police officers and firefighters are higher than they are for female.
