The H1Bs are the cause of the problem. Instead of letting the labor marked work with demand driving up salaries in those professions to the point that more people would learn science and engineering degrees, they plucked dirt poor people right off the yak cart, dropped them in America, drove down the salaries, and discouraged intelligent people from getting careers that could be dominated by third world labor.

Government and big business are the axis of evil.

HiB’s are the attempt by the gov and their big business cronies to globalize the labor market in the short run. This runs counter to the local nature of any free labor market, which is local in the short run and regional or national over time.
This may be the worst governmental policy in history.
