STRASBOURG, France – Courting Europe with an American-style campaign, President Barack Obama on Friday talked up his plans — popular here — to eliminate nuclear weapons, close the Guantanamo Bay prison and tackle global warming.

In return, he's hoping for European popular support in the anti-terror fight in Afghanistan.

...

But the European public has no stomach for more intense military involvement by their nations. ..

Obama and his aides sought ahead of time to frame that outcome in the best possible light.

Holding a town-hall in a foreign country?

novel? or just pathetic?

appealing to the European ‘masses’ and disregarding what this country has done to save the bacon of its allies.. more than once.

The AP Love-in continues..

With bowed head and bended knee

By Thomas Lifson

Has anyone ever seen Barack Obama publicly bow and bend his knee when meeting someone prior to yesterday? I don’t recall any photos of such a gesture of greeting, but I would be very happy if some of the President’s defenders on the left could provide such evidence that his striking body language yesterday before the monarch of Saudi Arabia and custodian of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina was simply a habitual gesture of warmth.

If Americans are dumb enough to fall for it, maybe Europeans are too.

Well, President Bush was busy KILLING the Islamic headchoppers for 7 years straight, and being completely destroyed for life, for his “crime”.

Hussein gets no such fate for his easy prostration literally before a Muslim King, nor does he get a mention for his anti-American tour thru Europe.

It is sickening, these to men should not even be mentioned in the same breath.

The curious thing is that in German politics...townhall type atmospheres don’t work. You usually get some professional moderator, who asks prepared questions that the candidates already have ahead of the time and its a simple discussion. The Germans don’t have anyone like this guy at all.

Now that Obama has essentially declared his intentions to go “all in” on Afghanistan, does the repeated refusal of allies to help out mean that Obama will conduct this mission “unilaterally”? Heaven forbid. Obama is realizing the difference between actually governing vs. taking cheap shots at GWB from the sidelines.

Obama continues to command “rock star” like popularity in the foreign press, but the way in which leaders in other countries (friend and foe alike) are actually treating him shows how little respect they actually have for him. They certainly do not fear him, nor do they apparently believe they will pay any sort of political price for ignoring his bleatings.

Amusingly enough the majority of the questioners were Americans. Two of the five were the foreigners he wished to take questions from. Thats right its reported that there were only five questions. Europeons are morons for buying into his shtick.

Just love these Goebbel’s propaganda pieces from AP. There’s not even a veneer of nuetrality. A second grade class could see the fascist pap dripping from the AP papers.

Obama called the U.S. "arrogant," dismissive, and derisive." He said, "We have a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world.

Obama has no business being the President of this country.

It’s no different than Clinton’s “rock star” status. They love it when we elect incompetent socialists. They despise American exceptionalism and want us to be brought down a notch or two. They can see Zero is just the man for the job.
