This is an absolutely jaw-dropping display of dumbassness on the part of the jury! Total Dumbasses! I guess they thought it was cute to award him $1, but this opens the door to reinstatement, an award of attorney's fees, and maybe even back pay. After all, how can you be "wrongfully terminated" and not suffer lost wages?

As far as I know, Churchill didn't even bother to deny he was a faker, a liar, and an academic plagerist. He just said, "They didn't fire me for all that-- it was the essay" and these idiots went for it. Morons!

Fraud Churchill was fired because he's a plagiarist, an impostor, and a fabricator...the article on the September 11 tragedy may have touched off the review of his writings, but CU made it clear that he was fired for producing false writings. What is wrong with people these days? Anyway, enjoy your $1 dollar Turd. I hope they pay him with 100 Indian-head pennies.

I once had to sell a patent to my employer for $1. I never got the check. I bugged them about it for years. :-)

I think you may just own that patent.

The jurors were probably too stupid/ignorant to realize that.

He may get hundreds of thousands of dollars due to this idiotic $1 verdict. It opens the door to collect attorney’s fees and possible reinstatement with back pay.

Ignorant would be the operable word. But sometimes stupidity prevents one from realizing he is ignorant.

Well, at least he won’t be able to buy a whole lotta firewater with that $1 award...that said we should have known that, one way or another, the lawyers ALWAYS get paid.

Please tell me this is satire... $1 is way too much compensation for that imposter!

Yes it is, but the jury asked the judge if they could give $0. The judge replied the minimum was $1.

He gets his choice of either one. He can go back to work at CU or get paid for the years he could have. Unbelievable.

Yeah, but the judge may very well give him more at a future hearing.

The jury was wrong to give him this amoral victory.

Took the dumb jury 2 days to come up with this brilliant verdict, bunch of idiots. And in other news, Jay Cutler is being traded to the Chicago Bears.

As a Colorado resident .... BOOOOOOOO. Jury should have awarded CU the combined total salary that this FRAUD soaked out of the school system while he was present.

“Denver Chief District Judge Larry Naves will decide in a separate hearing whether the former Boulder professor can return to his job or receive pay for years he could have worked at CU. “

Farther down in the article.

Sounds like it was $0.00 for pain and suffering and $1.00 for lost wages. That might be game, set, match for him and Lane.

No, not a joke - read the article. The jury asked the judge if it was possible to find for Churchill and award him $0 in compensation.

The judge told them basically “no, you must give him a minimum of $1 if you are going to find in favor.”

This is the jury’s way of slapping Churchill in the face. It is 100% certain that he will find out that they WANTED to give him ZERO in compensation, and know from it that they all thought him a complete POS.

What the jury ALSO effectively did is prevent Churchill from launching into a continuous cycle of appeals, abusing the courts and costing the University further monies.

They found in his favour - he cannot appeal that. Nor can he appeal the monetary award. The jurors very smartly (IMHO)prevented any further legal actions from this phony indian.

Not an “OJ jury” by ANY stretch of the imagination.
