Ken Wahl, the dude who starred in "Wiseguy," claims he's destitute and blames it on a conspiracy between his former business manager and Wahl's ex-wife.
Wahl's lawsuit, filed yesterday in L.A. County Superior Court, claims he hired Henry Levine back in the day to take care of his finances. Wahl says Levine had the dreaded power of attorney. The actor explains how his career was red hot from 1983 to 1991.
But things changed radically in '91. Wahl divorced his wife, Corinne Alphen and gave her "ALL of the community property assets." Dumb move. The assets included a Malibu mansion and an estate in Boston, worth "many millions of dollars."
The suit claims during Wahl's marriage Levine entered into a "secret business manager relationship" with Corinne. He says after they got divorced, Corinne squandered Wahl's money "on plastic surgeries, facials, and massages" from the sale of the Malibu property -- Wahl says the proceeds were supposed to be held for their son.
More bad luck...Wahl got in a bad accident, broke his neck and was permanently disabled. Wahl says the business manager screwed him over, making him believe several million bucks were put aside to support him -- in fact, he says, his ex-wife got that loot too, thanks to Henry.
Wahl says he now owes $250,000 in back taxes.
Wahl is suing Levine and the Screen Actors Guild. SAG is named as a defendant because he has a beef over errors in his pension contribution.
Reading the TMZ comments, it seems the Power of Attorney was signed when Wahl was hospitalized from his motorcycle crash.
Loved his show.
I liked the show, too. One gets the impression, though, that he’s not a bright man, bless his heart.
I hope this is sorted out fairly, somehow.
I always suspected there was a difference between Penthouse and Playboy.
THere are advantages to living life outside the fast lane.
Wiseguy was a great show for sure. Wish they’d put it out on affordable DVDs. The episodes with Ray Sharkey as Sonny Steelgrave and then late w/Kevin Spacey were real good.
I always thought Ken was an alright guy, a real good guy and he deserves better. Hope things work out for the best.
Playboy is better than Penthouse? Sad story.
He was coked out of his mind in that interview.
Wahl was a coke-head who screwed the pooch all on his own.
Me Too! Too bad he had a weakness for motorcycles and skanks.
Agree! Those were great episodes but toward the end the writing for the show went to hell as Wahl himself observed.
this thread needs pics of ex-wife, current wife, etc.
Ex-wife was super hot back in the day. She’s from my hometown. No idea what she looks like now....
Right now she's got a website up reading tarot cards.....Here's a blurb.....
My insights gained from traveling the world modeling will enhance your telephone tarot card readings.
What a shame. I thought he was the handsomest man on television. And he was nice about it, seemed a decent guy from a hardscrabble upbringing. A tragic turn for him, I wish him well.
The show had really good extended plot lines not along the regular crime scene stuff (remember the plot about the recording business, it must have lasted a whole season)
Did he retain any rights on his work that perhaps could be released in syndication? Or DVD? I know I’d buy it.
LOL
as pretty as it is a lot O work has been done on that face
Ahh, okay. I just googled his image. Ken Wahl’s the guy I always got confused with Chris Noth.
I was an extra when the production crew for the movie “The Wanderers” came to my high school in the Bronx in 1978. Ken Wahl was the star, in his first major role. He was very cordial and cool.
It is very sad what has happened to him. He seemed destined for bigger things.
Don’t be so sure. As bad as his first wife was, his current wife is a 100x worse. He really jumped from the frying pan into the fire. His current wife, Shane Barbi is abusive. She keeps him from his friends and family, and won’t allow him to take any jobs or do any interviews anymore. That is the REAL reason he left showbiz. His friends & family are all very worried about his safety. It’s a horrible situation. He is a wonderful man who does not deserve this life.
