I recall a few years ago during a Bush family visit with the Queen, one of the Bush twins was wearing blue jeans and flip flops.
The MSN went wild, but she was defended by conservatives.

I think when Barbara met the Queen she wasn’t wearing jeans, she was wearing a jean jacket with slacks. But we on the Dose DID comment about how she should have worn something nicer to meet the Queen. So we didn’t let the Bush family slide on their clothing choices. It’s just that Laura, unlike Michelle, was ALWAYS dressed nicely, even when she was dressing casually.
