LOL! That's it! She's trying desperately to say "Hey, gals, I'm still one of you, just look at my clothes!"
She's gotta grow up, become First Lady, and STOP SLOUCHING!
Oh my. As far as I can tell, there is NO color in that sweater that remotely resembles the color of that dress. This would have been one occasion where the black sweater might have worked.
ROTFL!! You're right about that. Makes you wonder if ANY of those women actually own a full length mirror!
She slouches a lot but that is common with tall women, especially if the tall woman has a husband who might be sensitive about appearing shorter than his wife. It wouldn’t surprise me to learn she has been instructed not to look taller than Barack.
Kalee the sweater, ugly as it is, is asymetrical so it is supposed to be shorter on one side - yeah I know - ugly - but it isn’t buttoned incorrectly, it is purposely made to look odd.
Is that woman in blue, the British Prime Minister's wife? Her outfit makes me think of Dolly Parton's comment at some awards show, when the dress she was wearing split at the tush. She came out on stage wearing some guys suit coat wrapped around her waist, told the audience what had happened, and said that her Daddy would have said "That's what happens when you try to put 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 lb. sack!"
Ladies of a certain age and mid to larger size need some sort of foundation garments for the bottom half. Girdles are medieval torture devices, but there are some really nice lightweight shapers these days that help control bulges. Of course, nothing helps if the dress is a size too small!
I was too young for the saddle oxford era, but my sister, who is 11 yrs. older than I, had a pair!
I’ve seen estate jewelry that included double strands of pearls, so they’re not out of the ordinary.
The skirt has a black tule overlay which gives an appearance of unraveling. Very tacky.
The orange dress is the best day dress I have ever seen her wear, from a campaign appearance last year in North Carolina. It is simple, covered up but not dowdy, in a fashionable length and a good color for her. She should have it copied in lots of flattering-but-appropriate colors, and acquire several neutral jackets in various styles, like a chanel jacket, a lapel jacket, a collarless jacket, etc., in various weights and tones for the seasons. In addition, she needs a few skirted suits specifically tailored to minimize her butt, her posture problems and arm exhibitionism. Her workout regimen should now be about back posture and leg stance, not biceps.
And she needs some conservative shoes with a sturdy heel. Many of her kitten heels with witchy toes are ridiculous on a size-eleven foot with the large African heelbone that is pushing out of the shoe in the photo with the blue outfit, in part because of her little-girl pigeon-toed stance.
There are better shoe options. A well-chosen shoe should say "I am a stable person on firm ground and am not wearing a weapon."
Washington style is very elegant and understated. It should convey the statement that the people who are trusted to do important business wear "the uniform" so that their clothes are not the focus of attention, unless, of course, she just wants to be known for superficiality instead of brains, tact, or resentment of her secondary role in the scheme of things.
The essential Washington wardrobe is a few well-cut, well-fitted suits, well-fitted shoes (no witchy points or extreme heels) and classic, simple, gold or platinum jewelry -- NOT diamonds, rhinestones, ethnic specialties, bangles, artsy crap or bling, especially not for day. Diamonds, in DC, are only for evening, such as a diamond tennis bracelet, or perhaps simple earrings or a pendant for evening only. Why? Because from the beginning of the Republic, top elected representatives have strived to convey a distinction from the propertied elitism of Europe that we broke away from. People like the Kennedys, the Kerrys and the Obamas just can't wait to re-establish European elitism here.
To sum up: in Washington, it's style, not fashion. And, at least in the daytime, it's straight style, not gay fashion.
I think she wears her belts WAY up on a smaller part of her body instead of at her waist (which is bigger) Looks stupid. She should just not wear one like other women.
Thank you for posting these pictures. :o)
I cannot imagine two worse dressed women than Michelle and Mrs. Brown!
LOL! It's before the time of these Washington parvenus to remember it (fifteen years ago!), but Mrs. Bush the elder wore trademark pearls at virtually every public occasion, to the extent that retailers stocked necklaces for sale called "Barbara Bush pearls."
O M G!!!!!!!!!!!! The Queen didn’t know what happened, she’s not used to being around folks with no manners.
Very well considered. People on both sides of the political spectrum go too far.
Just awful.
“zeros bitter half has the look that says, man- I hate posing for pictures with all these white people!!
Yep, another freeper had noticed that also, maybe you.
Her smiles so genuine with black folk but forced when she’s with whitey
Ping.
