First Lady Michelle Obama arrived for tea at Buckingham Palace dressed conservatively in a black cardigan, white top and a black full skirt that appeared to have a tulle overlay. She was also wearing her trademark pearls, with her hair half-up, half-down. Because this was not an official state visit, the meeting with the queen was considered informal, reports The Times' Booth Moore.

First time I’ve ever seen her dressed like a first lady should dress. Now if they would’ve only consulted someone about the gift. *sigh*
To: GOP_Lady
Hey, at least she gave in to the desparate pleas from her staff and didn’t go sleeveless.

Is that the official picture or a re-take? What’s Prince Phillip doing?

It appears that she at least wore stockings. And shed that ugly green skirt, tiger striped shoes and sparkly sweater she wore earlier in the day.

zero’s bitter half has the look that says, “man- I hate posing for pictures with all these white people!!”

Dumpy...but I must admit that yellow/black number she wore on the plane stairs was smashing.

Everybody go ahead a flame me, but I think Michelle looks nice. It's the gift of an iPod that made me wonder if it was an April's fool joke.

She walked in to dinner at 10 Downing sleeveless - before Easter. Her bare arms are called “thunder and lightning” by the Brits.
To: GOP_Lady
Oy, she brought out her guns.

The conservative black was nice but the cardigan is, I think, a bit too informal, especially in light of the queen’s outfit. A nice suit would have been better. The cardigan has a “Mr. Roger’s formality” about it.
