US First Lady Michelle Obama joins France's Carla Bruni-Sarkozy for a paparazzi-pulling visit to Strasbourg Cathedral on Saturday, diplomats said. As Western leaders converge on the eastern French city for a NATO summit, celebrity watchers will set their sights on the high-profile pair, whose style and personalities have grabbed world headlines.
Obama and Bruni-Sarkozy will join other NATO leaders' partners for a midday visit of the Gothic jewel and a nearby art restoration centre, after touring a cancer research institute. Built from the 12th to 15th centuries, Strasbourg Cathedral was for centuries the tallest building in Christendom, with a north spire towering at 142 metres (310 feet).
Twenty-eight heads of state and government are set to descend on Strasbourg and Kehl across the German border for the summit marking NATO's 60th anniversary.
Between 30,000 and 60,000 people are expected at a mass protest rally.

I can’t imagine.
I have to wonder how Carla, the elegant model with her refined taste in clothes, could keep from snickering when Michelle stepped out wearing that godawful bumble bee outfit. Hideous in color, tragic in design, and cut to accent her most unfortunate features, this truly is the worst thing she’s worn yet.
Carla is a beautiful and gracious lady who isn’t given to snickering.
