Jim Tedisco (R) vs. Scott Murphy (D) LIVE results open thread.
Turnout looks fairly light so far.
Polls close at 9 PM Eastern
Please post live results and (if you live in district) some on the ground updates.
I’ve been watching for this thread. Thanks.
74,000 more registered Republicans than Democrats according to the Washington Times. This should be a slam dunk but polling suggests otherwise.
It doesn’t look like there are any live updates at NY’s Board of Elections homepage: http://www.elections.state.ny.us

FOX reported the RAT is favored to win. God help us.
Good news!
Do you happen to have a link?
The only silver lining to this loss would be the Steele would get the boot... Or SHOULD get the boot. He said winning this seat was a priority.
Yeah, I know. I wanted to post a link to a “live returns” page, but couldn’t find one.
I wouldn’t think it will take too long to tabulate the votes in this one.
Thanks for the thread. I was just looking for it.
Does this have to do with stamping out ACORN fraud?
As far as I know Tedisco had been holding a steady lead with the exception of one poll (Siena, I think). That doesn’t sound right.
Based on what?
That’s what I figured. Plus, a safeguard of ballots in case of a recount. We don’t need another repeat of the MN fiasco.
Strangely enough, I read that if the winner doesn't have at least a 30K margin, they House probably wouldn't seat the winner until sometime next month, at the earliest.
It has something to do with legal challenges about absentee and military overseas ballots.
Thank you for posting this. I, too, have been watching for a thread on this election.

Unfortunately, from what I've been hearing, Tedisco sort of bungled some responses to the stimulus a few weeks ago, and went really negative to try to recoup. Couple this with inept support from the national Party. He was leading by double digits. Last polling I say specific numbers for from a couple of weeks ago had him up by 4-5%. I heard about (but didn't see) a poll - maybe the Siena one you mentioned - that had Murphy ahead, but within the margin of error. Bad news, since the steady trend has been for Tedisco to lose support.

Murphy is younger and better looking and has two adorable young daughters.
