Thanks for that "news." That's a whole lotta $$$$$ for oil, and it is obviously an important component or Gibbs wouldn't be spending it. Given the definitive NASCAR rules on fuel additives and anything around the fuel pathway in engines, it makes me wonder what, if any, rules they have established for oil and lubrication...

If there are few or no rules that sure seems to be a loophole for engine performance and horsepower. Gee, maybe it isn't just driver capabilities on the track that has been producing a competitive advantage. hmmmmmmmm.

After reading this I just have to wonder about Jr’s comments on the radio about his eyes burning whenever he’s around the Toyotas on the track.

Unless, of course, if all that hot air from KB has turned into "gas".

I always get a kick out the “different” oils. Years ago I walked into a metering building on the backside of the island. This is where multiple oil wells feed from the Gulf. The meters were for Exxon, Mobile, Texaco, Chevron, and several I don’t remember. All basically coming out of the same field.

I got one better than that. 95% of all fuel comes into Humboldt Bay from Chevron at Richmond Ca by barge and is distributed by tanker truck to all the branded and independent stations in Humboldt and Del Norte counties...

That’s about like sitting in a refinery watching all the multi-branded trucks come in a fill up at the same station. :)

INDYCAR: Robin Miller’s Tuesday Castroneves Trial Update
Written by: Robin Miller
04/14/2009 - 05:16 PM
Miami, FL

The third day of jury deliberations in the Helio Castroneves’ tax evasion trial ended without a verdict as the 12 people trying to decide the two-time Indy 500 winer’s fate still had more questions than answers.
The more questions the jurors ask, the more it seems they’re interested in combing through the minutia of the law, rather than rushing to pass judgment on Helio Castroneves. (LAT) » More Photos

Much of Tuesday’s seven hours was spent with attorneys from both sides attempting to define and agree on three questions posed by the jurors about constructive receipt, deferred money and binding contracts.

The crux of this case is whether Castroneves deferred $5 million of his salary from Penske Racing into an annuity that he would receive next month and then pay taxes on
it or whether he conspired with his sister, Kati, and agent Alan Miller to hide the money and avoid paying taxes.

After giving the government and defense counsel time to try and reach some common ground on answers to those questions, U.S. District Judge Donald Graham brought in the jury to try and simplify some very complex legal issues.

They were given a verbal explanation by Graham followed by a written version, which they studied until 4 o’clock when they went home for the day. Deliberations resume Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
