AUTOS-OBAMA/President Barack Obama is now America’s car salesman.
Obama made his sales pitch on Monday as he laid out White House plans for restructuring the struggling auto giants General Motors and Chrysler. Buy a car, he said, and you might qualify for a tax deduction.
“The IRS is launching a campaign to alert consumers of a new tax benefit for auto purchases made between February 16th and the end of this year — if you buy a car anytime this year, you may be able to deduct the cost of any sales and excise taxes. And this provision could save families hundreds of dollars and lead to as many as 100,000 new car sales,” Obama said.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs followed up on this theme a bit at his daily briefing saying Obama “absolutely” would prefer for Americans to buy U.S.-made cars.
“I don’t want to turn this into an advertisement,” he said,

My wife bought a new ‘08 Mountaineer last week. Old one had 150K and goofy little things were beginning to go. Were looking at a used one with 25K but the ‘08 was just a couple of thousand more with 100 miles on it...never thought I would ever buy new.

The first time I saw obama he was a US Senator. He was on a committee asking his questions.........My first thought was, he's a Farrakhan trained goon. What does that say about me and my instant impression versus what this Dr. saw and thought when first exposed to obama?
I'm far from any kind of expert about anything,yet my first impression seems to be close to what obama is.
I appreciate your post as I had not read it before. I am curious why the Dr. and I had such different first impressions.

So why Mr. President did you not give each of us taxpayers $20,000 or $30,000 and I would be more than happy to get a new car seeing that I need one right about now. You should have put bailout money directly into the hands of working taxpayers. That would have stimulated this economy. Oh, but I forgot that isn’t what you really want.
Obutthead is going to send us all $40,000 for this, right?
