Yep. Professional athletes, for example, have to pay income tax in each state they “earn” income by playing a game if required by the state tax codes. (NY of course!!)
It’s outrageous—the taxes should attach where the club is headquartered and the contract signed. The Tampa Bay Rays, for example, don’t cut a check specifically for the NY games, the contract is executed in FL and the club is headquartered in FL. Those guys should not have to pay taxes to other states.
It’s a racket.
