***Let’s send him to Austin so he can bring that city back into the Texas fold***

Yep, he lived in NY, so he knows the mind “less” set of that type.

California has considered taxing high-earning people and businesses who decide to escape to other states.

Reference, please. Forgive me if I'm skeptical.

***Dallas is the perfect place for Rush.***

Fort Worth is cheaper, friendlier, and just as close to the airport.

;^)

Wait until Rush sees the property taxes on a $25 million dollar home in Texas.

Let's say....$3.25 per $1000. There are LOTS of places in Texas to pay more, but that might be a decent average for a suburban house in one of the 5 or 6 largest cities in Texas.

That's about $80,000 a year in property tax...over $6,500 per MONTH. That would put a world of hurt on me, but it's chump change to Rush. I bet he pays way, WAY more than that in New York State income taxes right now, and he really doesn't even live there.

In Austin or San Antonio, he could play golf virtually year round, as in Florida, and enjoy some fabulous Mexican food, too!

How about Tennessee? No state income tax there. Go to Nashville Rush!

I seem to remember him talking about how expensive storm insurance was, and deciding that he would just buck the odds and do without it.

Dallas. Great location for air travel. Peaceful climate and he could move next door to Dubya. (built in security)

“...Let’s say....$3.25 per $1000”

Good Lord!

I pay somewhere between $25 and $30 per thousand here in NY.

That's right, vote with your feet.

New York City is a loud, dirty, rude, expensive, obnoxious, expensive as sin and vastly over rated, it is not fun city it is a dump.

10,000 people pay 80% (+/-) of the taxes, if 1,000 leave NYC will implode, the city leaders will raise taxes to make up any short fall.

They let themselves get hounded. I’m sure there are some who DID take their $1M+ bonuses, and fully intend to refute the 90% tax on “No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed” grounds (there is no question that law was passed specifically to get them in particular). They also don’t have literally millions of supporters. ...and if he _does_ owe something, he can afford to pay up, fines & all. So far it looks like NY is just on a fishing expedition, pulling an audit just to see if they can nail him on _something_.

Word is it would only take about 20,000 high earners leaving NYC to cripple it.

COME TO MIDLAND, RUSH.

We have great food, great weather (hurricane is a drink), and we’ll leave you alone.

Airport fits a Citation Jet nicely. Private hanger.

Plus, you would ALMOST be conservative enough for us here.
