REICH - Obamanomics Isn't About Big Government
The Wall Street Journal ^ | MARCH 29, 2009 | ROBERT REICH

Posted on 03/30/2009 10:51:54 AM PDT by anglian

Twenty-eight years ago, Ronald Reagan used the severe economic downturn of 1980-82 to implement an economic philosophy that not only gave force and meaning to a wide range of initiatives but also offered a way back to sustained economic growth. Is there a similarly powerful animating idea behind Obamanomics? I believe there is -- and it's not a return to big government. The expansive and expensive forays of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve Board into Wall Street notwithstanding,

Yes from Robert Reich we get great assurances that: Obamanomics Isn’t About Big Government.

Of course he starts with President Reagan’s tax cuts, who on the Left doesn’t like to start there? Yes if you must tell a lie, tell a big one, and say that letting those who make money KEEP IT is the same as TAXING IT and having government do anything with it.

“Fascism is a radical, authoritarian nationalist ideology that aims to create a single-party state with a government led by a dictator who seeks national unity and development by requiring individuals to subordinate self-interest to the collective interest of the nation or race”

Reich is using the same strategy as the Global Warming cultists. Pay no attention to the record cold or expansive federal government spending and control...who are you going to believe your own eyes and intellect or the MSM con men?

It’s planned ~ and it’s no accident ~ I believe Obama is simply trying to destroy the country before everybody comes to their senses.

I don’t believe he even actually cares about being re-elected. At least you could count on that from Clinton. When his 4 years are up he will have accomplished what he had set out to do. We will be left in utter chaos unless we return the legisative branch to the adults in 2010.

To sum up what Reich is saying in the present context:

We’re spending money we don’t have and never will have despite raising taxes on everything and everyone to make a token effort at paying for the spending, and it’s being spent on gigantic government bailouts that come with strings attached and government dictating who runs private enterprise and how much they make, and declare and end to how Wall Street does business, and while we are spending trillions on new government programs to nationalize health care and limit industry through excessive governmental environmental regulations, but other than those minor things, this isn’t about a return to big government.

OK Mr. Reich...I can see that it’s not a return to big government...since we never left it to begin with.

In the article Reich states: In 10 years, taxes are expected to fall to around 19% of GDP, a lower level than the late 1990s. Spending is expected to drop to around 22.5% of GDP, about where it was under Ronald Reagan

How can you fit so much BS into so short of man?
