That’s just flat out crazy. How can a country ask a man to fight and die defending it, yet deny him the right to vote because he’s not a land owner?

I served my hitch and was released from active duty BEFORE I was eligible to vote as did many others. The voting age used to be 21, I don’t recall worrying about it. I think if we were going to change anything we should have raised the age for military eligibility to 21 rather than lowering the voting age. Very few 18 year olds have a clue about how to vote, for that matter most 28 year olds don’t have much of a clue.

Landowners might be stretching it. As pointed out, if you’re in the military, you might choose base housing and not actually own property at a given point in time.

That’s why it should be limited to taxpayers!!
