I am sure we would see plenty of emotion on this site should a group of people voiced their desire to strip away the 2nd amendment.

As for leaving the site, it was for the night. There are too many intelligent and good people on FR to trade off for extremely small percentage of those who do not represent conservatives on FR.

Ridicule and mockery has been used as a tool on this thread to make points here. Obama’s team learned this from the Alynski play book and it's rude. Read post #52 for a whole different perspective.

I have seen plenty of emotion on FR. So, as far as I am concerned if lack of emotion is a prerequisite for voting, then the human race is guilty. Look at the violent crime rate, which gender is the prominent offenders? Are they usually stirred by emotion, such as fights? If we want to talk about estrogen being an interference with sound judgment, let's take a good look at testosterone. It has clouded much judgment in men.

As for women's rights, Along with their rights came more safety. Throughout the years as women gained more rights, so did their ability to seek safety from abuse, instead of being ignored. I thank God that he gave us the rights to be heard.

The whole idea of the Senate was originally so that wisdom and logic would trump the emotional vote in the peoples House. That is why so many believe allowing direct vote of the Senators was so bad. When I do something I try not to do it while I am emotionally upset. I wait until I have calmed down so I can step back and think logically. I know then that wisdom will enter into my decision.

So no, I disagree that emotion should ever be used when it comes to making laws. People should not be forced to live by laws that are forced upon them by threatening their freedom because of emotional thinking. Where is the logic in taking rights away because we are upset for a moment?
