I'm confused and a bit curious. Joseph Smith taught that Jesus “IS” what?

Before I can answer you question, I must back up and insure you understand that we teach that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are not the same being as taught by many other Christians.
Because of that difference in our teachings, non of what was said by myself, or the other poster, has anything to do with Jesus.
Before the beginning of this earth, we believe that we, you,me, and all other people that have been, are, or will be on this earth, were spirit children of Heavenly Father, the one who is our God. We believe that Jesus was the firstborn of our brothers.
Brigham Young who outranks you, taught that Adam was God....Here Apaostle Bruce R. McKonkie who also outranks you talks about it.

What "other Christians"? are you talking about?
Either you believe in the God and Christ of the bible and the revealed Plan of Salvation that is in it or you do not. Peter's affirmation of Who Christ was and is, is the defining testimony of whom a Christian is.
