New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

***How about Rahmism.***

Won’t that upset the Hindus?

This is indicative of the mindset of those whose loyalty is to a “denomination” rather than to Christ! I have posted that I belong to a “nondenominational Christian” church, but that doesn’t give mormons a handle to hang their attacks on because my loyalty is not to the physical church body, but to Him that holds our souls in His hands.

AMEN!

Oh, we have noticed the new tactic of trying to discredit the exmormons and their message by claiming they were never members.

WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE admit to having been LDS if it was NOT TRUE! I was ashamed for many years that I fell for the LDS lies.

Syncro, call me when you make the list, we’ll have an initiation ceremony lined up...

Does it involve veils and bakers hats?

I like to add a touch of BBQ sauce to mine. Yum. Got hooked on fry sauce living in Utah, best reason to drive through the state (especially Training Table’s fry sauce)

Good reason to stay away from that site then.

Still unwilling to answer a simple question about your faith, why? I gave you the words of those who claim to be prophets in your odd ideaology, why are you so reticent?

Apostle Orson Hyde: “I discover that some of the Eastern papers represent me as a great blasphemer, because I said, in my lecture on Marriage, at our last Conference, that JESUS CHRIST WAS MARRIED at Cana of Galilee, THAT MARY, MARTHA, AND OTHERS WERE HIS WIVES, AND THAT HE BEGAT CHILDREN. All I have to say in reply to that charge [that Jesus was married and had children] is this -— they worship a Savior that is too pure and holy to fulfil the commands of his Father. I worship one that is just pure and holy enough “to fulfil all righteousness;” not only the righteous law of baptism, but the still more righteous and important law “to multiply and replenish the earth.” Startle not at this ! for even the Father himself honored that law by coming down to Mary, without a natural body, and begetting a son; and if Jesus begat children, he only “did that which he had seen his father do.” (Journal of Discourses, Volume 2, page 210; brackets mine)

After reading this does anyone STILL want to claim that the LDS are “just another Christian denomination?”

sevenbak and fproy2222 are both suspended/banned?

That's what I get for eating when I should be FReeping. I miss all the excitement!

Click on their screen names. There were some comments about sevenbak posting comments on that other site, which said comments he posted were (no doubt) what did him in.

Not sure about fred.

I have wondered for some time why the anti Mormon threads, which is basically what Mormon threads became, were not relegated to the Religious forum.

...Self importance seems to be the driving force of all involved....

They are on the RF. If you don’t want to see them, do not click “everything” on the sidebar.

I do not do this for pride, but to share my experiences having been LDS, and to show what they REALLY teach. I witness to them the truth about Christ of the Bible, and salvation by grace.

Do not ascribe motives to me when you do not know me. I am not “anti Mormon”. I am anti MORMON THEOLOGY.

Why should I this kind of tactic has been used on the LDS becasue the questioner is not really wanting to know he is just up to no good.

His whole reasoning is to try to marginalized the Lord’s Chruch so again not interested in your game!

When your entire philosophy is built on one initial big lie, well the rest comes easy...

You point out one great irony in all this. The one time they are not lying is when we post the words of their doctrines and leaders and they say we are posting lies...

Something to think about. Perhaps subconsciously many of them know...

So you read minds and souls? You appear to be afraid to admit what those in authority in the LDS have openly said. Why? Are you ashamed of your beliefs?

I think Sevenbak was one of the more classy, thoughtful, heartfelt posters here w/ a true passion for conservatism. His insight as a conservative journalist was also very welcome. Another one bites the dust. I’m sure many here will feel quite accomplished. Sad.
