New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

They snag Catholics too.

150,000 Catholics a year, if you can believe the website Catholic Answers.

What’s the link to West’s site?

I have been told that, while not on the anti-mormon list, I have been personally noted as mocking West for looking like a president of his Homeowner’s association (which he took as a personal attack).

I stand by that. He’s clearly the uptight kind who would be president of his homeowner’s association.

...another poster used a lie to prove my Church is wrong.

There you go again.

The LDS teachings were used to show your church is wrong.

You continue to call the teachings of your church lies.

Well, you are correct.

We told you before, what we are posting is mainly for the lurkers to protect them from the LDS missionaries and their 12-step Cult snagging program.

An honorable purpose, if that is indeed your intention. But do it kindly and without hysterics. In the words of St. Paul :

"And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."
2 Tim 22

I'm talking about the routine, daily trashing of other faiths which takes place around here. If that's not you, then move on.

Mitt Romney,Donny and Marie and Glenn Beck. Beck probably wouldn’t disavow the anti-freepers since Fox News keeps a tight leash on him.

You REFUSE to ‘learn’ HTML.

HOW to do it has been posted numerous times: look it up!

+++++++

There is no truth or lies in using or not using HMTL.

And I have nothing to hide in all the glitter ya’ll sometimes use to hide the important facts in among all the rasaldasal.

Ya’ll can say the facts are there. They are often carefully hidden in plain sight.

It would seem sad the your “current experience” isn’t based in reality. I know non LDS lawyers that would have a field day w/ your judge. The way the order describes things, is inconsistent w/ the reality of our doctrine on certain very key points. You would know that if you were who you claim to be.

Hmmmm...what "key points" would those be?

Please point them out:
This one: "Neither parent shall allow any religious figure to mentally or emotionally prepare any of the three daughters, directly or by inference, to live under polygamy, whether said polygamy takes place in this life or the next."

This one?

"Neither parent shall allow any religious figure to disparage the other parent, directly or by inference in front of the children, or to teach or coerce them in any way, into a desire to be married in a secret ceremony where either parent is not allowed to attend for any reason.

Surely, not THIS one.

"Neither parent shall allow any religious figure to remove the girls clothing to rub their ”EDITED” or “EDITED” with oil, or for any other secret acts, or teach them that submission to these types of ceremonies are required to go to heaven. Don't see anything wrong with that one either.

THIS one?

"Neither parent shall allow any of the girls to be alone with any religious leader for any reason."

Young children being required to attend a "worthiness" interview for these reasons:

6. For baptism of eight-year-old children who are members of record (see page 26).

7. For 12-year-old children as they advance from Primary. (At the same time he interviews the boys to determine whether they are worthy and prepared to receive the Aaronic Priesthood. He interviews the girls in preparation for entering the Young Women program.)

From Bishop's/Stake President's Manual

And AGAIN, Sentinel, the accusation that "you are not what you claim to be"..the new mormon method of trying to discredit posts by ex-mormons. Salt Lake must really be disturbed that ex-mormons are affecting the missionary effort.

That is what the word “Protestant” means.

History Lesson: Positively Protestant

...When the word Protestant came into currency in England (in Elizabethan times), its accepted significance was not “objection” but “avowal” or “witness” or “confession” (as the Latin protestari meant also “to profess”)...

When I read posts from you,SENTINEL and other former mormons, I see a brain drain from mormonism, which tells me that really intellegent people, people who can actually think for themselves, are leaving them.

You will note that there is a new mormon attack mantra against former mormons, accusing us of never really having been members. It's a concerted effort to discredit us and call us liars.

Ahhh. Thanks for that explanation.
All this time I thought Martin Luther was making a protest with his 95 theses at Magdeburg. Now I realize he was just professing his support for the Catholic Church.

Defending Christ is not for the faint of heart. The Devil pulls no punches, nor did our Savior. Turn the other cheek was for disagreements with our brothers not those who seek to destroy or corrupt the Body of Christ.

If some find it distasteful, I can understand, the battle for souls is a war, one that has been ongoing since Adam ate of the Tree of Knowledge...

What bothers me is that some do not understand what is really at stake here, and indeed in the desire to be understanding and tolerant they go too far in the other extreme, past simply being tolerant of individuals, which is proper and right, into being tolerant of the Devil's work itself, of other ways that are not of the Lord. In turn they look on us in the trenches as being something unchristian when indeed we are the very ones following closest to what is taught by Paul and others. Indeed instead of looking down on us they should be looking up to see that Christ has enemies and they seek to destroy everything that is good and proper and true.

Misguided individuals need to be loved, misguided religious movements serving the will of the Evil One exposed and countered at every turn.

You guys are kidding me, right? You didn’t bother to read my objections on the SPAM site? Figures. Just because I don’t agree with what the anti Mormons do here on FR, and the avenue they are given, doesn’t mean I condone the actions of this guy at SPAM. Here’s what I sent him yesterday.

_____________________________________________________________
“This link was posted on FR. I don’t agree with what you are doing here. I don’t know who you are or if you are a former member of FR, but as a long time FReeper, and a part time LDS apologist, your efforts are in vain, futile, kinda creepy, and will likely backfire.

Rather than counter the SPAM with LDS SPAM, let it die. I used to think that we needed to counter every false accusation. It does no good. Let it die, and stop tracking anti’s. It’s beneath us as disciples of those who would follow the saviors example.
Of course, everyone has their free agency, and you are free to do what you will, but my recommendation is to let it alone. What they are doing will “come to naught”. There is no reason to make a war, especially over free speech, free agency... which we are supposed to value highly. That’s why we value our great constitution. That’s why there are so many LDS Freepers.

Please don’t do this. I would strongly recommend doing away with such antics.

FReeper sevenbak”

The suspension of disbelieve can only go so far...
