You are correct and I read your post wrong.
In that case, how are they effective if the goa never does anything on their own?

I rejoined recently but entered my phone number incorrectly. I quit because I objected to their non stop telephone calls at all hours of the day and night. If they somehow get my correct phone number again I’ll quit again.
To: mylife
then just put it in your spam folder. My ISP is good at that.
My guess is you just a member of GOA and can't stand it that the NRA is offering something your group doesn't.

And I don’t get any spam from them How did you manage that? I actually don't mind the email spam, the mail but their phone calls were driving me up the wall. All their calls came at the worst times and really got irritating. I let membership expire and hung up on them for over a year until they stopped calling. I recently renewed but posted an incorrect phone number hoping to avoid the calls for money, more money and more money and more money. A real turn off and counter productive as I went from sending regular donations (other than membership fees)to sending nothing to hanging up the phone as soon as they identified themselves. Their phone calls just turned me off completely. I know they need to raise funds but there has to be a better way to do it and respect member privacy also.

No I'm not kidding, they hunt and own loads of guns and they voted for Obama, him being a Marxist isn't good enough (they don't know what that means) They cannot believe Obama will take their guns.
What "specific" things has Obama done against the 2nd Amendment, as a Senator or in the last 2 months as President?

Obamas AG has said he intends to make the Assault weapon ban permanent.
The DOD banned resale of used ammo cases for reloading(since overturned)

During the election I regularly heard a commercial in which a guy who was identified as President of the G.O.A. shilled for Obama. He claimed that BO would protect gun rights.
I don’t remember his name but I believe he was identified as a pro football player. Anyone know anything about this?

“And I dont get any spam from them How did you manage that?”
That’s interesting - they never bother me at all.
I put in for a 7 year membership, twice renewed at that level. When given my choice of magazines, I opted for none.
I wonder if the state you’re in makes a difference - the last time I renewed I was a South Carolina resident.
I cannot stand unsolicited calls of any sort, and will usually cut-off organizations that continue to make them after a first warning. So I don’t blame you if you’re ticked off.
But the email I think is pretty easy to understand - I didn’t have an email address when I joined, and I’ve never given them one afterwards.

That’s interesting - they never bother me at all. -------------- In addition to joining I did give several times to specific solicitations for this or that piece of legislation etc. I think that's when you start getting calls for funds. Your name then goes on a list of contributors and they'll go after you for every cause that comes up. While most of them are good causes I simply object to the phone calls, most of which come at the wrong time and/or too often. If I believe in a cause I'll contribute on my own. I don't like being hounded by phone.
