No, as another Freeper pointed out, the comparison does a disservice to Carter. While a buffoon, Carter was nevertheless a small businessman and U.S. naval officer. I don't think he was at heart a Marxist---just not all that bright. And I don't think he hated America, although at times it was hard to tell.

Bill O'Reilly ran across the phrase "Jimmy Carter Redux" either at the Spectator site or elsewhere and was talking about it a few nights ago, but he apparently was under the impression that redux was a French word, so he pronounced it "re-do."

It is, of course, a Latin word, so the "x" is pronounced.
