Shopping in Stockholm has become downright insane.
I prefer the Oxford Street pickpockets and the gypsies of Rome to this mess.
Trust me, the Animal Kingdom will hear from our lawyers!

A man was butted by an unexpected assailant while shopping at his local supermarket in a Stockholm suburb on Friday - a roebuck deer. Perhaps he was looking for directions to a Sears store.

- Is Sears still around?
A friend of mine told me Wal-Mart has competed away most other companies in their business.

NOW can we be allowed to hunt deer?
To: WesternCulture
Yes, Sears is still around. I don’t buy anything there since I got rid of the vacuum cleaner that needed “R” bags and “OO” belts - and anyway, I can order from Hoover.com with much less trouble - but someone must shop there for something.

Sears is still doing pretty well around these parts (northern New England). I’ll be getting myself a new lawnmower there in a few weeks.

- Nice to know.
Speaking of Wal-mart, I’m not overly impressed by their prices (I’ve checked them out a bit on the Internet).
My country, Sweden, boasts a lot of stores that could compete with Wal-Mart prices despite the 25% VAT we pay upon the “actual” prices we pay.
But perhaps there are stores in the US that too could compete with what Wal-Mart has on offer?

...a fellow customer managed to detain the wild animal in a strangle hold before escorting him from the store. No doubt a Laplander.

Whether you get the best price at Wal-mart depends on what you’re buying and when ... just like any other store. For example, their clothes are inexpensive, especially basic items like young children’s pants and shirts. However, they don’t last. Some people want better quality, and will go elsewhere and pay more. Others (like me) find that the children destroy the clothes no matter what you spent on them, so you might as well get the cheapest.
You can often find appliances for less, if you look around. On the other hand, most stores don’t even have toilet paper in packages of 48 rolls. Wal-mart has the best price on frozen pizza. For shoes, there’s often a better price/selection at PayLess.
