A man wise in his own conceit. --Proverbs

2. Faculty of conceiving ideas; mental faculty; apprehension; as, a man of quick conceit. [Obs.]

How often, alas! did her eyes say unto me that they loved! and yet I, not looking for such a matter, had not my conceit open to understand them. --Sir P. Sidney.

I await your apology, LeGrande. Man up.

Also, Biblically speaking, the "world" is the Creation, as in the world being destroyed by flood in Noah's time. The earth remained. Do you grasp the distinction?

con·ceit

1 a (1): a result of mental activity : thought (2): individual opinion b: favorable opinion ; especially : excessive appreciation of one's own worth or virtue

I noticed your quote didn't include the bolded common meaning of conceit, unlike my quote above.

Also, Biblically speaking, the "world" is the Creation, as in the world being destroyed by flood in Noah's time. The earth remained. Do you grasp the distinction?

The creation seemed to be the separation of water from the firmament and the flood seemed to be letting the waters in heaven back on the firmament. All that water just beyond the stars you know. So I am not exactly sure of your point.

Mythology is sometimes frustratingly vague that way, but I suppose ignorance and superstition have to be to survive.
