Sorry you didn’t get the time - want me to remind you a few days ahead next year? :^)

“Usually my house is one of the darkest on the street.”
LOL! Ours too! My husband likes to complain about the electric bill, so we usually turn on just what we need. We had all inside and outside lights on tonight.

House parties! What a great idea!
Rather than canned goods (mandatory at lib parties) we should all require guests to bring a can of hairspray. At 8:30 (or whatever the whacko hour is) we can all go outside and spray away - invoking some global warming and thus a nice early spring.

Yeah...I've been going though withdrawls because I'm so use to turning lights off. It's taken real willpower to KEEP the lights on! LOL

Sorry you didnt get the time - want me to remind you a few days ahead next year? Won't need a few days, to properly celebrate "Earth Hour" I would just throw the Christmas lights out on the lawn in a jumbled mess and turn them on. Think that would be an appropriate celebration of silliness ;^)

Lemme see here....
Between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 PM CST, I had -
two TVs going,
two computers fully lit with speakers on,
maybe 10 Edison light bulbs burning,
the office radio going,
one oven cooking pizza at 400 degrees,
and the electric furnace running at 72.
I've got a family of six. The eco-nuts can kiss my American V-8 driving behind.

All of our lights went on a half-hour ago. The rest of the neighborhood is pretty dark.

Thank you, Thomas Edison! Now, now, now. Give proper credit where it's due. We should thank Nikola Tesla for the juice.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute, in the link below, offers a short video in celebration of Human Achievement, a concept they are promoting to counter the leftist-ecotard-dimwits' Earth Hour (very appropriately symbolized by "lights out" as in the superstitious Dark Ages).

My mistake. Thank you for the correction. We wouldn’t want to take away from Nikola!
But we can still thank Thomas for the light bulb!
