State drops warnings over 'militia' members

The chief of the Missouri highway patrol is blasting a report issued by the Missouri Information Analysis Center that linked conservative groups to domestic terrorism, assuring that such reports no longer will be issued.

The report warned law enforcement agencies to watch for suspicious individuals who may have bumper stickers for third-party political candidates such as Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin.

It further warned law enforcement to watch out for individuals with "radical" ideologies based on Christian views, such as opposing illegal immigration, abortion and federal taxes.

Chief James Keathley of the Missouri State Patrol issued a statement that the release of the report, which outraged conservatives nationwide, prompted him to "take a hard look" at the procedures through which the report was released by the MIAC.

Wait a minute. It should/would never have have been “released”? Define released. Released to the media? Or released to the police? Wouldn't it have been clearer to say it would never have been taken seriously or sent to police?

The question is “Would the Chief have done that WITHOUT the uprising of so many Conservatives?”

I’m still going to remove my “Support the Troops” and “God Bless America” ribbon magnets when I drive through Missouri. Just to be on the safe side.

prompted him to "take a hard look" at the procedures through which the report was released by the MIAC.

Notice, he was distressed by the RELEASE of the report, not its content. Next time, he just won't release it.

BTW, this report looks like a piece of Morris Dees garbage propaganda.

Wouldn’t the Chief have had to okay this before it was released even to his officers? In other words, he didn’t read it OR he did and agreed with the contents. It was the Conservative gun owners who won this battle.....for now. As I have said before, it is impossible to “un-ring” a bell.

From this point on, every cop across the nation that see’s a Gadsen Flag bumper sticker on a pickup truck will rerun this story in his mind.

It said the report cited the Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource.

Well there’s a surprise!

by the time I read through the list of the type of people that the police should be watching I had narrowed the list of possible sources of the report’s info down to te ALCU and Southern Poverty Law Center.

A law enforcement agency should not be relying on an outside source for info on subversive groups (other than other LEOs..

ACORN bumper stickers are to be disregarded of course, since the target of the report isn’t actually real terrorists.

Yep... From UC-Berkeley, the school that told us about the “psychological factors” underpinning conservatism (i.e., “fear and aggression,” “dogmatism,” etc.), comes a brand-new effort to expand the horizons of human knowledge:

Now, with backing from an anonymous donor, the University of California, Berkeley ... is creating a Center for the Comparative Study of Right-Wing Movements. According to experts in the field it is the first of its kind in higher education.

Anything associated with the racist Anti-American Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center is nothing more than sedition and treason.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is nothing but a Ku Klux Klan against Americans

Meanwhile the liberal "focus groups" and whatnot are gathering together to figure out how to continue this kind of "under-the-radar" surveillance of conservative groups so as to put pressure on them from government agencies to supress them.
Only the conservative groups will notice the pressure, while the sheeple will be allowed to continue their pitiful, meaningless lives while their "betters" run the government (and everything else).

I would be very interested to see one of these flyers made up in a similar way, but targeting left-leaning extremist groups... the Green party, PETA, anybody with a Ralph Nader bumper sticker, you get the idea.

Our objection might hit home if the shoe were on the other foot.

I seems that that today’s LEO is becoming like the LEO’s of banana republics. NOT the friend and protector of the populous as it used to be but rather yet another rogue government agency tasked with rolling tax revenue enhancement, citizen harassment and intimidation .. and NOT to be trusted.

3rd party political candidates are against the War On Drugs, one of law enforcements biggest money makers.

3rd party affiliation is a threat to government, as they promote independent thinking.
