Worse Than AIG: IBM Seeks Federal Stimulus Money While Outsourcing Jobs From The Hudson Valley To India March 26, 2009 · STATEMENT FROM JIM TEDISCO (R,C-SARATOGA) CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS:
Reports that IBM which today cut thousands of jobs in Dutchess County wants federal stimulus funds while outsourcing jobs from the Hudson Valley to India, is outrageous and possibly worse than what AIG tried to do. Stimulus funding was supposed to spur the creation of jobs not aid companies that are outsourcing to a foreign country. This type of misguided priority is exactly why, back in February, I insisted to Governor Paterson that we needed 100 percent transparency and accountability in how federal stimulus funds were utilized. Scott Murphy rubberstamped this legislation now it appears as if IBM is following his lead by creating jobs in India, not the district.
IBM is moving jobs out of this country as fast as they can...
FYI
“IBM is moving jobs out of this country as fast as they can...”
They have a lot of nerve asking for stimulus money from U.S. taxpayers.
I never liked to predominantly NY state based companies - IBM and GE. They make the down-state Mafia look like pikers. GE is the creepier of the two.
I never had dealings with Kodak or Xerox - both NY state big firms.
Jim Tedisco needs to hammer hard.
The Wall Street Journal showed a chart the other daya and IBM has more employees out side of the USA and is moving LOADS of jobs to India in the past 4 months.
And GE got $160 Billion, some of which went to (failing) NBC who just paid their executives big bonuses.
Where’s the outrage and bus tours??
“Jim Tedisco needs to hammer hard.”
He always does!
Generalizations can be misleading...

Good. Go Jim! I donated yesterday and I am not an NY stater. This race has to be won.
How is it also that the car companies can ask for a bailout when there is so much inventory sitting on car lots? You would think they’d slash prices to move their inventory and make money.
“This race has to be won.”
Absolutely, and it’s very close.
And how many billion was it that AIG sent out of the country!!!
I posted that a few weeks ago, and added lumber companies, I was flamed for wanting to wreck the economy, that we don't have. Go figure!!!
Greed!
How dare they provide goods and services at a lower price, thus raising our standard of living! The swine!
thanks, bfl
IBM = Indians Battling Mexicans (for your job).
Well the I in IBM stands for “international”... If I were the CEO of a major company I wouldn’t want to operate in this country either. I’d rather go where hard work and success are rewarded. Don’t get mad at IBM et al., get mad at the people chasing them away.
