Palin, Steele and Other Conservative Christians Not ‘Normal’? More Hypocrisy from ‘Hardball’
Fox Forum ^ | 3-27-09 | S. E. Cupp

Chris Matthews, along with Lois Romano of the Washington Post and David Corn of Mother Jones, devoted 10 minutes of last night’s “Hardball” to lamenting the religiosity of Republicans.

“Why does everything sound like the 700 Club?” Matthews flippantly probed his like-minded panelists. The criticism came in response to recent sound bites from Sarah Palin and Michael Steele — two very popular go-to targets of the left. [snip]

“Suspicious” is a good characterization of the liberal attitude toward Christianity. The media was “suspicious” of Palin throughout the campaign, accusing her of speaking in tongues, and admonishing her for her pro-life position.

Mind you, neither Palin nor Steele were talking about the sinister ways in which they’d like to inject their voodoo brands of religion into the lives of others. Nor were they suggesting that Christianity play a more prominent role in politics writ large. They were simply acknowledging their own faith — how dare they.

Chrissy and his like minded guests recognize Governor Palin and Michael Steele are Christians?

This is wonderful news.

If they,Chrissy and friends serve Satan (notice the if) that means Satan is worried.

The Almighty God our creator is more powerful than Satan and goodness will win.It doesn't pay to mock God.

Pray for our troops and our great country.

At some point I truly believe that Christians will be labelled as the scapegoat and the “cause” for all of the world’s problems. In other words, the new Jew.

Lois Romano lost all credibility when she began to compare Sarah Palin to Dan Quayle; first after Bush Sr. lost in 1992 VP Quayle was not heard from again till 1996, like all previous losing VP’s before Sarah Palin. Secondly Quayle did not have the following and appeal that Sarah has. And finally he could not raise money like Sarah does.

Lois, we’re talking here the difference between apples and oranges.

Chris has watched The 700 Club? When? Who was president?

More to the point...Chris knows what normal is? Color me skeptical.

It is not so much that Obama and his minions hate Christians. It is that hate the notion that Christians, conservatives and Republicans may discover or rediscover God and use him to motivate their troops, to light a fire under their message and propel them to a massive victory that ousts Obama and sends the Democrats to the sidelines for an extended period.

If God could provide the impetus for Sarah Palin to defeat Biden in the debate, think of what he could do if infused his spirit in millions of committed conservatives and Republicans.

“Why does everything sound like the 700 Club?”

because if you have a Marxist or secular humanist world view and want to control the world, then your enemy will sound like Christianity.

Christians are now “nutters”. First they marginalize, next they get rid of you for your own good.

I guess we aren’t really normal like liberals, you know? They change wives/husband/signifact other every few years and we tend to stay together. They are busy out trying to fit in somewhere and we are at home enjoying out families. They spend their lives trying to convince everyone that they really are that smart and we tend to take for granted that others are supposed to be smart and are floored at most of their ignorance. Yep we really are different. ;)

“I am sick of the heartland supporting liberal batshins like New York City and San Francisco!”

You really don’t know what you’re talking about. If you compare states by the ratio of federal taxes provided and federal dollars received, New York and California look far better than most states in “the heartland.” I’d suggest that is mostly due to the vast amount of wealth produced by “liberal batshins like New York City and San Francisco.”

http://www.taxfoundation.org/research/show/266.html

Then again, that analysis ignores the effect of Obama’s trillions to Wall Street, so you may have a point.

Less than 10% of the workforce is employed in the sort of jobs you describe.

Sorry, work is any activity that is valuable enough for someone to pay you to do it. Your distinction is arbitrary and outmoded. Someone has to “push paper” to finance and build factories so the good non-socialist people can do “REAL work.”
