Mr Brown watched on uneasily as his host, President Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva, launched a bizarre tirade in which he warned that next weeks G20 summit in London would be a spicy affair.
President Lula said it was completely unfair that the poorest people in the world were suffering most for the mistakes of wealthy, Western financiers.
Now they have demonstrated that they dont know anything about economics.
President Lula, head of Brazils main left-wing party, said that no black man or woman, no indigenous person, no poor person had been in any way culpable for the global banking crisis.
Im not acquainted with any black banker, he said. The part of humanity thats responsible should pay for the crisis.
(edit)
Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek - current holder of the EU presidency - has branded US President Barack Obama's fiscal stimulus package and financial bail-out 'the way to hell'.

..... insult to Great Britain?
Nah.... he targeted a far bigger group
Guess he never heard of fanny mae and raines!
Nah.... he targeted a far bigger group
That's true...in my post #9 here I referred to it as an "openly, flagrantly racist insult against ALL Western nations as well as all white people " but I should amend that to say "....as well as all white people and nonwhites who aren't racist.".
A fair-minded nonwhite person would be just as upset over this as non-Leftist white people are over examples of true racism against colored people....leftists being the most racist people I've ever encountered.
His response to that would most likely be the standard Leftist "Oh, any people of color in this matter are merely figureheads. The REAL POWER is in the hands of their White Slavemasters behind the scenes"
Re G20 to be a spicy affair: I am visiting London now and will be here until Mar 31. All police leave has been cancelled. It seems tense and people are in a bad mood about the economy. RBS chief Fred Goodwin had a brick thrown through his front window at home. I expect all hell to break loose for the G20 next week.
The world’s poor are suffering not because of the misdeeds of a group of pasty-faced financiers, but because they (the poor third-worlders) simply haven’t been as smart as the successful countries. They’re poor because their countries are beset by a combination of ignorance and corruption. Lula’s screed is the same as a host of other anti-capitalist third world morons (although Brazil probably belongs in the upper second tier) who blame other countries (mostly American and European) for their own problems. “We are poor, because you are rich” is one the more common lies they spread. The fact is, if it weren’t for the “greedy” pasty-faced people (whatever their sins), the world’s poor would be a lot poorer.
isn’t Lula white?
The fact is also that Latin America has lagged behind substantially. Asia has been independent for just about 60 years and parts (like Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong) are already 1st world and Japan brought itself out of dire poverty after WWII to become the second largest economy, while the Asian Tigers are in second world status and the two giants China and India are racing out of poverty. In contrast, Latin America has been independent since the 1820s — nearly 200 years.
Taurus hand guns are the only Brazilian brand name product I can think of, but you'd probably have a difficult time securing one in the U.K. Most people are aware of coffee ("they make an awful lot of coffee in Brazil") and wood. However doing a little research I've discovered Brazil does export shoes, furniture, and a number of other brand name products on the international market. The research also claims that Brazil has the biggest gdp in South America and might have the tenth largest economy in the world. So a few people in Brazil are doing something right. I'm wondering if mobs in Brazil are chanting death threats outside corporate and banker homes like they are here and in Britain.
"..Lula had little formal education. He did not learn to read until he was ten years old,[2] and quit school after the fourth grade in order to work to help his family. His working life began at age 12 as a shoeshiner and street vendor..."
Curiouser and curiouser...
Let's not go crazy here
He was an intellectual nullity when they elected him and will always be so.
How did we get bumped by the blue-eyed bankers??
Oh, I’m sure he’ll get to you next!
“’White, blue-eyed bankers have brought world economy to its knees’(Brazil Prez to UK’s Gordon Brown)”
Yaw-w-wn. Just another Socialist whiner.
If this continues...there will be a “reverse diaspora” of blond haired blue eyed Aryan types.....just like the Jews returning to Israel.
Hmmm, close but not quite irrational exuberance being poked at here, and what does this guy know about the hedger Soros... Bama might have to tone this guy's language down a bit.
