GIVE Act outlaws citizens' right to protest
Salt Lake City Non-Partisan Examiner ^

It is another sound good piece of legislation. H.R. 1388 has a creative title; The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education (GIVE) Act. 321 representatives of the people voted approval for this legislation which, among many other things, strikes a blow to the rights of people to mount any protests against legislation. Listen closely, it outlaws the right to mount protests against proposed legislation.

It’s the civil war I’ve been predicting for years now. The ultimate conclusion to the left’s decades-long assault on America.

Baby steps. It all has to start somewhere. This begs the question, why would those in Mandatory Volunteer Programs be prohibited from the right of participation and free speech?

Some know the threat is real and want to go on the defensive offensive while some want to discuss the situations and wait until something happens and the react.

Fixed, courtesy US Army... or at least me, an lowly E4.

With luck 2010 will bring CHANGE we can believe in.

Man, it'll be WAY too late by then. They are pushing their agenda far faster than I think anyone thought they would. They have a game plan. They know how much time they have and are are wasting no time "talking" about it or even reading the bills they are passing. This has been in the works for a long time and unless we snap out of our lethargy we are going to be done for.

They know the 2010 timline as well as we do.

You know, before reaching for my pitchfork, I’d like to know what the actual text of the bill is that’s causing this guy’s alarm cry. I just tried to locate the insidious “Amendment 12” he refers to, and couldn’t find it. The structure of the bill is in sections with letter-designated amendments to specific sections, so it would be helpful if people sounding alarms would accurately identify the source of the outrage.

The Marxist Manifesto laid out the take over as without firing a shot. They, like most enemies, have patience. It takes time to install agents of one’s agenda in every sector, but that is exactly what has been done.

I meant going on the offensive, thanks for the correction. Ah, you military guys don't miss much do you?

I know. I truly fear there will never be another fair and free election. Time will tell. From the rumblings I’m hearing, things will be hot by the end of August. Real hot.

From the HR1388 Misc. section, #6104: Go to the Library of Congress Thomas website and type in HR1388. See especially number 5 & 6 below. This is why people are saying it is paving the way for the volunteer service to be “Mandatory”. (I know, this sounds like Animal Farm-speak but that is the actual wording.)

(b) Specific Topics- In carrying out its general purpose under subsection (a), the Commission shall address and analyze the following specific topics:
(1) The level of understanding about the current Federal, State, and local volunteer programs and opportunities for service among individuals in the United States.
(2) The issues that deter volunteerism and national service, particularly among young people, and how the identified issues can be overcome.
(3) Whether there is an appropriate role for Federal, State, and local governments in overcoming the issues that deter volunteerism and national service and, if appropriate, how to expand the relationships and partnerships between different levels of government in promoting volunteerism and national service.
(4) Whether existing databases are effective in matching community needs to would-be volunteers and service providers.
(5) The effect on the Nation, on those who serve, and on the families of those who serve, if all individuals in the United States were expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service.
(6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

It’s the civil war I’ve been predicting for years now.

There HAS to be something done, soon. It's been coming since the late 60's. We have 2 separate countries operating under one flag right now and we all know it. Neither side will ever bend and something's gotta give. Either there will be a civil war (politically or whatever) or some states will try to withraw from the union.

It IS coming and Obama is the catalyst, but not the cause.

>Ah, you military guys don’t miss much do you?

I’d wish that were more true.Right now, I’d say I trust my command [officers above co/bn level] more than I trust congress. {VERY backhanded complement.} I’m thinking that the officers with the possible authority to give soldiers some protection (ie, from court-martial, gross defamation, etc) if we were to stand up to congress and say “No! this is not RIGHT! I will not allow it!” are probably to embroiled in the politics to ACTUALLY do something. :(

I hope/wish that that is not the case, ultimately. We shall see.

Why do you think it is virtually impossible to find large amounts of almost any type of ammo these days...the smart people know what is coming.

Ping to my post 32. This is the House version of the bill that passed last week. The Senate was trying to force this through on cloture this week, and no mandatory quorum. I have not heard the outcome of that. I’ll try to look up the Senate version which is S277

Am I the only one who doesn't hear things (except on FR)?  Maybe because I am in the People's Republic of Michigan.  I have family in Texas, South Carolina and Georgia and they have "heard things" too.  I feel like the last one invited to the party on this.

I hope you are in rural Michigan. This may turn out to be a party none of us want to attend.
