I think it is his state of mind over all. As a diligent Mormon, he is striving toward godhood, in his mind. If he can believe that, he is useless to me. He is not grounded on earth. His religion IS why I couldn't accept him.
I am hoping for Sarah Palin, with Michelle Bachmann as a Vice-Pres. If the roles were reversed, they would still lead the pack. Their lives define "conservative"! As a WASP male, I define "chauvinist"! Yes, they are both women!
They have more balls than all the bull Rino's in Washington!
Uh oh...you said the "M" word. Now you're in for it...
Who is Michelle Bachman?
Now, you’ve done it.........
I say this as an individual who was raised a southern Baptist and who is now a card carry LDS myself...and who is not looking to make this thread a theological discussion.
My own history on this fourm and my involvement in numerous activities speaks for itself without my religion having to define it for me.
You have good and bad apples in every persuasion. Just as there are good Catholics, good Baptists, good Methodists, good Evangelicals, etc. who would make excellent Presidential candidates, despite whatever differences they may have in interpretation, there are also good LDS folks of the same ilk. There also extremely bad exmples in each persuasion as we have all seen.
But, as I stated, though as a person I will give him the benefit of doubt and allow God to judge his heart, Romney has lots of ground to make up, and proof to establish before I will bank on his "change" being genuine and not motivated out of desire to attain office.
I know this, though I supported 1st Hunter and then Thompson at the time, had Romney won out and it been him versus Obama, I would have voted for him over Obama.
My money and hopes right now are also on Sarah Palin. She has walked the walk, and the liberals hate her for it.
Her very personna and life story are the enigma and posion to the liberal/socialist/marxist way and people who hear and come to know of her, are drawn to her. They are scared of her and she proved what she can do, even after being the VP candidate on McCain's losing ticket, when she helped lift the Georgia Senator over the top after the election.
I expect we are going to see a lot more of that in 2010 and 2012 and I look forward to it.
GO SARAH GO!
