They have a criminal problem, not a gun problem.

If this were true, wouldn't this be a case for official Mexican support for a less porous border?

Mr. Calderon, help us build this wall!

We have had a problem with the Mexican border for how long? I am convinced that our government doesn’t want to fix the problem. It doesn’t take a genious to figure this problem out. But.....if they keep allowing the problem to exist, it’s just a distraction from other problems in Washington.

Hmmm...those guns came from the US but we don’t have the violence problems Mexico is experiencing.

So they’re claiming that their source for this is the Mexican government?

I don’t have the facts at this moment, but I strongly suspect that if we did have the actual facts, we’d find that most of the cartels’ guns are coming from the Mexican government.

Why get should Mexican drug gangs buy guns from the US when they can get them directly from Chinese smugglers?

Gun Smuggling Case. In 1996, 2,000 AK-47 assault weapons were reportedly smuggled aboard a COSCO ship, Empress Phoenix, into the port of Oakland. Two Chinese companies were under investigation for the smuggling: Poly Technologies, which is owned by the General Staff Department of the PLA, and Norinco, or China North Industries Corporation, which is part of China's defense industries and owned by the Chinese government.

U.S. use of the drugs is what is fueling this abomination. Follow the money....all the way to Washington if you have the nerve.

The gun grabbing scheme is in full ramp up mode. FNC had an image this morning of recently confiscated guns taken on the U.S. side of the border- none of which were the typical “media” defined assault automatic weapons. They could have been taken out of any Wal-Mart store. Total bullsh*t.

Beijing says Zimbabwe arms shipment being returned to China
Chinese Foreign Ministry says arms shipment bound for Zimbabwe .... will be returned to China because there is no way to deliver it to the landlocked country in southern Africa, China said Thursday.
Mexico isn't landlocked.

Fox News is also proclaiming this with their coverage of “outbound enforcement”. I have heard that most of the weapons are actually coming from South and Central America.

Even if this were true, those buying and selling the guns to Mexican drug lords or whatever, are criminals, and more to the point, ILLEGALS! Mexicans themselves. And they obviously are not coming by those guns legally.

The problem is that the general populous is unarmed. Mexico won’t release the serial numbers of the guns they’re talking about because those guns come from the US gov’t directly to the Mexican police. They then go to the highest bidder or get ‘lost’ in the paper work shuffle. And we’re gonna give’em more. Inconvenient facts. As for the AK-47’s and grenades ... look to China.

The Mexicans are coming over the border and buying rocket launchers and grenades at the local Walmart and all you guys can do is criticize. Why don’t we have laws to prevent illegal aliens from purchasing automatic weapons and high explosives in this country? This must be one of those “loopholes” that the Brady bunch is always complaining about.

Where is the outrage?

Watching the morning news[sic] programs today I noticed something I had never noticed before. All of them move in lock step, the same stories at the same time on all the channels. Flip the channel half way through the story to see the same story on another channel. They are even at the same point in the story.

The Mexican gun story, which has been discredited by FOX news is still being told with varying degrees of USA involvement. 90% - 95% of all Mexican guns come from the USA. So says ABC, CBS, NBC and they even had President Felipe Calderon parrot the same statistics. As did Secretary Janet Napolitano.

We should be watching ABC, NBC, and CBS and not only watching FOX or the internet for news. We should be calling them in every case where they site bad data. Particularly when it involves such a sensitive issue as this.

When they frighten the masses with the WWII .30 cal machine gun by calling it an .50 cal anti-aircraft gun, we should call, email and complain that their reporters are wrong, incompetent or lazy. Don’t let it stop there, take the editors to task for allowing the reporters to be wrong.

The worst thing to do is to say you won’t watch their news anymore. Think it through, what you are tell them is you won’t complain if they get it wrong, again. SO they can keep saying the same thing and next time you won’t see it, won’t complain, problem solved and we the people loose.

As Americans we often think we can influence companies by not spending our money with them. Which does work, to a point.

This is not that point. This is a systematic assault on our basic freedoms by a well trained, well oiled machine which knows exactly what it is doing. We cannot be effective as individuals who hide from the truth by not watching their propaganda. We must watch their propaganda and call them on every issue, every time.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance - T. Jefferson
A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth - Big Brother
Every revolutionary should have a 19” color TV - Jerry Rubin
